Does anyone else here have hormone problems? I've been diagnosed with PMDD (premenstral disphoric disorder), where symptoms can cause much distress, and are much more severe than PMS.
I've been told to go to a OBGYN. I have, Ive been on 4 different birth controls. Birth control is all they can offer me. My symptoms may be a tad better w/it, but I am still suffering Big Time! Anyone have hormone issues or know what I'm talking about?????? __________________ Cherry>>>Gash "What might it be like to simply draw on your knowledge and experience of how to be with people, and to invite yourself into the fold? SSRI'S have been shown to help tremendously with PMDD-prozac,zoloft,paxil,celexa.
sorry if i don't write more about it i'm not feeling that well tonite. people with PMDD may have abnormal reactions to hormone changes that occur each cycle. and may change the estrogen and progesterone levels that normally occur with menst. causing serotonin deficiency. thus the whole possibly trying the SSRI medication might help route. just a theory nothings proven. |

I definately feel your pain as I've been dealing with pmdd for quite some time. However, I'm also being treated for depression as well and so I'm already on cymbalta and wellbutrin. The difference is my doctor has me take cymbalta twice daily during pmdd instead of once a day the rest of the month. I have heard it suggested one stay away from salt, caffeine, and sweets. However, I find that difficult to do= to stay away from the cravings. I certainly won't give up my coffee. Exercise does help. Meditation. Anything relaxing for you. Like you, I just never had a good experience with the pill. Everyone is different. But for me, the pill made me feel more depressed. My doctor advised me to take vitamin b complex, evening primrose oil, vitamin d, magnesium, fish oil, and vitamin supplement. Check with your doctor and good luck. Laurie |

Thanks Laurie. Yes, fish oil. I take that and think it helps my depression.
Do you have any sleep problems?? I have terrible fatigue and sleep issues with the pmdd. I suppose upping the antidepressant could help. I'll bring this up to my doctor, I'm switching things around right now anyway. it is soooooo hard to function when you get so sleep deprived. I dont have answers for this. Im good staying away from sugar, caffeine in the later day. I am just super frustrated at the moment. __________________ Cherry>>>Gash "What might it be like to simply draw on your knowledge and experience of how to be with people, and to invite yourself into the fold?
