I'm glad I'm not the only one
I'm actually quite petite but I still order my lingerie online because its cheaper and I like getting mail. Yay a present to me!!
Also its kind of fun because occasionally my boyfriend will get to the package first and open it and it gets the mind racing. haha
But for the most part I just buy them for me, to make me feel good. Its extremely liberating to prance around your house in lingerie.

I seem to enjoy shopping online to find things like that when I start to feel like I'm in a downward spiral. I don't usually have the guts to spend so much on them though. Does it seem silly to want to have sexy lingerie and/or undergarments when all they're worn for is to boost our esteem, if only in our eyes?
I DO!! I love matching bra and panties... and I'm a "DD" so I can't wear cheap bras. I buy mine at Lane Bryant, when they're on sale. And buy the matching panties if I can. I don't know if it boosts my esteems, per se, but I just like knowing that if the paramedics came, my mama wouldn't be embarrassed.

Smacky, your comment on feeling liberated for prancing around in your lingerie reminded me of a conversation I just had with a friend of mine...

We're both engaged, and she recently had a bachelorette party, so we were talking about wedding lingerie. Apparently, there's some company that has a "bridal" set, with a veil, and a tutu-esque skirt and bra and it cost about $200. She said "At least it'll give you something fun to wear when you're home doing the dishes, because no way would anyone buy that and just wear it once!!"

Teeheehee!!

I wish I had more fun under-roos to wear, I just have trouble justifying it when money is tight. I generally just try to match my bra and underwear. Not so sexy, but best I can do right now
Thanks for this!

RomanSunburn; Not sure I could ever clean house in lingerie that expensive! But then, I'd never splurge that much. And your not alone with cutting back on the fun underclothes. I say it doesn't have to be a set or matching to be sexy.

WolfsGirl; Lane Bryant Rocks! The bogof sales are when I love to restock. I miss out on the panties due to the common size And almost always have to have the bras shipped. They hardly ever have my size in the stores. The thought of wearing something sexy, and having to go to the hospital had never really crossed my mind. The paramedics will think I'm insane due to all the laughing I'll be doing if they ever have to come again

SmackytheFrog; So true about it being fun getting packages/mail. There are so many sexy things online that I wish I could order. I've had such bad luck with bras, that I stick to Lane Bryant. If they don't happen to fit, I can at least take them back to the store. As soon as I get my own place for some more privacy, I'll be back to my old habits of lounging/cleaning in lingerie

The last set I bought the bra was really poorly made *sadness* but I like the skirt and for like $5 what can I really complain about? ^^;; Overall though I find buying babydolls online has been my most secure endeavour. Nothing's been wrong with them yet.

Unfortunately though wearing lingerie has become soley a me-for-me thing. The one time I did try to surprise the bf and make my demands known he took way too long (10 minutes cuz he was playing a pc game) to meet me upstairs and I got discouraged. Haven't been brave enough to try again since. Is it weird that I seemed to develop a complex that even me in lingerie isn't as desirable as the pc?

On the bright side I DO still love lingerie!

Sure do.

Although sometimes I buy pretty things in case I am in a car accident and so that the medical folks don't think I'm some kind of scrub for having ugly undies. hahahahahahahahahaha

Makes you wonder what our mothers did to us that we all like to buy cute/sexy underroos for the EMTs! Wonder how much underwear they actually see and how much of an impression is really leaves on them! Teehee!

I know seriously. If I'm ever in a car accident and need the EMT's the last thing is I'm going to be thinking is "Good thing I put on my Victoria's Secrets".

I do remember how I was embarrassed I was when I had a giant cut on my but (very long and sordid story) when I basically had to go to the hospital Urgent Care Centre every day for 5 days to get it looked at, cleaned, and redressed, and there I was one day bending over a bed, with my pants and underware down around my ankles, and I remember thinking gee I wish I was wearing nicer underwear. Like the Dr. really cared. Funny how our mother's lessons stay with us.

I was a paramedic for several years in the early '80s and nobody had memorable underwear. What I do recall was an unconscious alcoholic who had run out of booze so he drank his AquaVelva aftershave. His breath smelled exactly like the aftershave.

wanted to add.... in my marriage, i bought lots of lingerie trying to re-kindle something... in my relationship, now, my bf says lingerie is just "gift wrapping" and it doesn't matter to him what i'm wearing, so when I buy it, it's for me. just me.

Hi Smacky! Just curious if you have any suggestions on which online sites are better to check into babydolls on. I just wanna find something cute for me to wear around the house. But haven't had much luck finding any I like.

Hi yellowted. I'm not sure exactly what type you would be looking for. But I did a few searches, using sexy or lacy incontinence panties, and there were some pretty good ones. Not alot of help probably, but I thought I'd mention it.

I've been looking for something new for myself for awhile, but nothing seems to be what I'm looking for. I sooo love the corsets, but the sizing is to dang hard to figure out

Hoping everyone has a happy week!!

I just found a great site for undergarments/loungewear. Kimallensilks.com

Her stuff is all 80% silk and 20% cotton and it's supercomfortable. Somewhat limited selection of styles and colours - she's still a small company, but I've ordered a bunch of stuff from her and love it.

All prices are in CDN $.

Today I bought a nice bra, not very sexy... and some really sexy lace pantie things... but they don't fit, and they're non-returnable. Oh well! Will buy something else
