I started this months funnness of PMS. LOL NOT!! I have cramps and I have an area of cramps that feel like someone has an ice pick down there just stabbing it. It has almost brought me to my knees a couple of times.

This has happened a couple of times before and I bled a lot more than normal. But should I be worried?

Sounds like time to visit the gyn. Could be a fibroid. Or something else. Hope you feel well soon.

my friend had something like this. With the pain and extra bleeding. She went to her doc and they were able to take care of it. I second going to see your gyn.

The sad thing is I don't have a regular gyno...I had one but she moved away and I never switched to another one in the clinic.

I emailed my regular doctor tonight to see if he would see me and he said no that he wanted me to see a gyno about it.

I am scared and don't know which one to go to because I know that I want a female due to some issues in my past and one of the one's that is there is an idiot because I saw her for awhile and then fired her as my doctor. Her bedside manner was none I guess she skipped school the day they covered that.

So how do you pick one and then drop this problem in their lap?

I bit the bullet and made an appointment. I see the nurse practionner on Friday. They had an appointment on Wednesday but my mom can't take me until Friday.

So here's hoping it's nothing serious.

Well the pain went away so I cancelled my appointment. If it comes back I will go to the doctor but not now. I hate going to the doctor and try to avoid it if I can.

I went through this exact same thing when I was in high school, and then again (without the extra bleeding) about a year ago. Both times, a month's worth of birth control pills totally took care of the problem.

I would still suggest going to talk to someone about this. I know I have had these pains, however I don't get my monthy visitor, was put on Birth Control and the pain went away....this is just my opinion, but think still need to talk to someone at clinic if can hon.

Keep us up-to-date.

Hugs if ok,
Jen

Please do see someone. It could be a number of things like endometriosis, andenomyosis, Interstitial cystitis or fibroids.

I too have stabbing pains. My pdoc and OB/GYN are chalking it up to endometriosis.

Are their any other related symptoms?

I ended up not going. I know BAD me. I have this extreme fear of anyone touching me down there stemming from some abuse. Anyway the day before my appointment the pain level went way down and after talking with my parents decided not to go.

The pain has started to come back but not as intense and I am thinking it is something period related as it only comes during that time of the month.

I know I need to get the guts up and go to the doctor the problem is that it will be a new doctor as my old gyno moved and my GP won't see me for this problem. So need to work through these issues.

Thanks for asking y'all.

If I remember correctly you have some weight issues? Before I lost 25 lbs I had a ton of problems with ruptured ovarian cysts. Being overweight causes some pretty severe changes in hormone levels. How my OBGYN explained it to me is that you develop cysts every month - that is where the egg is developing. Normally, the cyst opens and releases an egg during your cycle. However, if you have altered hormones that are keeping you from ovulating, the cysts just keeps growing until it twists or ruptures.

When I finally decided to go to the doc I had over a dozen cysts per ovary and a polyp growing in my uterine wall. Please don't let it get to that point!

I usually ask friends or acquaintances for doctor referrals and then check their complaint history at my state's consumer affairs department.
