Does anyone else feel like this when you are ovulating? It's like this animalistic, and I guess it makes sense since biologically, the body wants to mate at the most probably time when you'd be able to conceive.
I'm not in a relationship with anyone now and it's driving me nuts! I found this new, as I just went off the pill...my libido these few days when I'm ovulating is insane! Am I the only one. |

You are right that it is completely normal. Research has shown a general increase in sex drive around that time for most women.
I can promise that it does get easier in time.. it's not always that strong. |

You're definitely not the only one! I remember many years ago when I was in college, I was at lunch with some of my friends. One of them said "do you find you get horny when it's near that time of the month". We all laughed then agreed that yes, we do.
For me, it's my sign that in a few more days I'll be pms'ing. I get extremely horny, even to the point of having "wet" dreams. Not only that, I find that my husband gets horny also even though he has no idea when I'm ovulating. Something like that still amazes me how much our bodies have a mind of its own. Going off the pill will definitely result in increased libido and changes to your sex drive. I remember when I was on the pill, I had NO drive. Within a month of going off of it, I was completely different. |

You are not alone. My sex drive increases as well. The trouble is I am so irregular that I can only tell in retrospect. A healthy sex drive is an asset not a detriment. ENjoy, but be sure to use protection unless you pan to get pregnant

God does seem to have a way in mind when it comes to be fruitful and multiply. Thanks God for the horneyness once a month. That once a month seems to be the only time my meds (zoloft) don't kill my sex drive. My poor H has 2 days out of the month that he has a ready and willing partner. The rest of the time my sexdrive is nonexistant. Hope he behaves those 2 days of the month, because if you tick off t he owner of the box then you don't get no cookies.
Sorry there was no other less rude way to say that. |

Horniness during menstruation is nothing new. Ask any high school girl, they're all horny and craving chocolate.
As for me, I'm always horny, but I do tend to be more horny on my period. |

Everything that increases blood flow is great, including intercourse and cardio.

I had a hysterectomy at age 33 or so, and I am 42 now.
I became EXTREMELY horny when I hit about age 30. I wanted sex almost every day, and I still went through batteries like none other lol. I would try to get my husband to have sex everywhere, like in the minivan, on the kitchen table, on the deck, in the shower. If I wasn't getting laid, or taking care of my own business, I was thinking about it. I also became quite aware of any attractive guy, and would try to check them out from the corner of my eye. I didn't want to screw them, but I could appreciate looking at them. Secretly. Or drooling over hot guys on TV if no one was home. The hysterectomy didn't decrease my horniness, as soon as I recovered, I was ready for more, and even extra to make up for the month of no sex. I would lay in bed watching TV, and when hubs would come in, I would jump on him. Or I would be like, "Hey I'm gonna leave early today and put that roast in, and I've got some stuff to do..." and I would go home and try to get some relief....or if he wouldn't put out, I would take care of business while he lay there and watched TV. "Oh, so it's like that? Fine. Good luck concentrating on Sons of Anarchy while I'm screaming and moaning here a foot away." That usually gets them involved! Then at like 38 or so, it clicked off, like a switch, and I am perfectly content getting it two or three times a month. Not more than once or so a week, but if I haven't gotten any for a while I get grouchy. |

Not only that, but men excrete a hormone called androstenedione (AND) that causes lutenizing hormone levels in women to spike when they're exposed to it, which accelerates ovulation and makes them more fertile. So just being around men more often makes us more likely to ovulate sooner. Our bodies are sneaky baby making machines. :P

I do notice it: if my sex drive is higher than usual, I can speculate that I must be ovulating and will have a period within a couple of weeks. Usually I'm right, even though I'm nearing menopause and I've become irregular now. The calendar can't tell me when my next period will be, but my sex drive still can, at least until my periods stop. How much longer that will be, I don't know.
It would stand to reason as a normal body response. We're biologically designed to make babies, so this is our bodies telling us, now is the time, let's get to conceiving. Our ovaries don't know whether or not it's convenient for us to have a child right now, or if we want to. |

I agree, libido spikes with ovulation. I agree, it's the baby making factor.
