It's been pretty hot lately, and I've noticed a strong odor from my lady parts. It's not a fishy smell, but it smells like sweat. My underwear also smells like this and it is fairly damp as well. Today I tried spraying myself with feminine deodorant which usually does the trick but it still smelled by the end of the day. My pubic hair is fully grown out, so that may be a factor to the smell, but I cannot shave it. I use a feminine wash to clean my lady parts but stopped for a week because I ran out.

I am wondering if maybe baby powder would soak up the smell and prevent my underwear from being damp? My underwear is cotton so that wouldn't be the problem. I also bought some baby wipes to clean with. I'm not sure what would be best to fix the smell and the sweatiness down there.

For me, the feminine sprays cause irritation so I don't use them. I would try baby wipe towelettes as they are more gentle on the sensitive areas. It might help to mix baking soda with your baby powder, or there is another product called Goldbond powder that is good for absorbing moisture and it was used by a relative of mine who liked it a lot.
I hope this may help.

regards
Jade

Oh, just saw the part about the baby wipes. Yes, the sweatiness this time of year is annoying to say the least. It is an unpleasant experience to say the least.

Gold Bond is wonderful and it has a menthol feel to it not to strong but it is nice and cooling to an area that is already hot.

Poise also makes incontinence products, they have a deodorizing sticker that goes on the outside of your undies and has a fresh smell. I use those often. I like them because they have no contact w/ your skin.

Remember to keep sweaty undies changed often. The dampness can lead to yeast infections of fungal infections on your skin. God Bond will help treat fungal infections like that on your skin.
Thanks for this!

Yeah, we actually have sweat glands in that area, and they get busy in hot weather. Some ideas: 1) Blow dry around the lady parts after bathing or showering to make sure all gets dry; 2) Do use the Gold Bond powder that was suggested; 3) Change your underwear twice a day.

I was surprised to read that most of the "feminine smell" actually comes from the sweat-gland area, not from inside us.
Thanks for this!

Alright, found the Gold Bond. I guess aim for at least once in the morning and every time I change my underwear. That stuff is absorbent, so that should soak up the sweat and mask the smell. I like the smell of Gold Bond, I think it smells good.

I love the smell of gold bond. It works great on sweaty feet to, and is really cooling.

So far the Gold Bond has been working, but it hasn't been super hot yet and I haven't gotten really sweaty, so we'll see how it goes.

The ingredient you want to avoid is talc. I believe they have found it to be carcinogenic. I also like Monkey Butt powder.

Well, this is a bit embarrassing and a bit TMI, but apparently there is a right way and a wrong way to wipe and I realized that for my whole life I have been wiping the wrong way. So now I'm trying to retrain my brain and I have noticed a dramatic improvement in the way I smell and how I don't feel wet anymore after wiping. I've also been washing myself with baby wipes when I don't shower and with Summer's Eve with my hands when I do shower.

I haven't noticed my pimple but I think it has gone away now. I am now concerned about scarring from my ingrown hair. I don't know the best way to remove hair down there with ingrown hair, especially on my bikini line.

just leave that ingrown hair. They hurt like hell, but will go away on there own. Don't worry abut a scar from it. It will most likely not leave a scar but if it does it will not be an issue to your mate. Ingrown hair scars is not what they will be looking at while visiting down there. You can pluck it but I am not sure if it is recommended or not. You can cover up the temporary scar w/ foundation, the water proof kind of foundation.

I've encountered this issue as well :/ I keep the down south area shaved but that doesn't seem to lessen the funk after a long day working outside in the heat. Also another part of the body that has the same sweat glands as the underarms and cootch is the nipple area. Never noticed that until I had my little one, a female friend of mine said that she didn't develop that sort of sweat there until she had her child as well. So, shave or un-shaved probably won't make much difference I don't think, I have sensitive skin there so using scented products is a no go. I just took my shower before and after work, but even then I still got a bit ripe
