My feet are size 11. Normal width.
It is so difficult to find shoes at regular stores. There are very few items available in that size. I wonder if I should know of better stores online that have a good return policy. |

I'm in the same boat. I usually order my tried and true brands at dsw.com. I'm not sure of their return policy though. If I order my usual brands (BOC, Steve Madden, sketchers) I'm usually okay.

I didn't realize size 11's were as hit and miss as they sound to you, hamster! I wear a size 10. And rarely, do I have trouble finding them. One time, last year I went to Lord and Taylor, and found this must have, for me, pair of Michael Kors shoes. They didn't have the color, I wanted, in the style I wanted. So I tried on the other color, and they gave me a special order that shipped directly to my home, at no additional charge, and they even rang up the sale price(s).
I found this shoe store, review of top 10, with return policies included. Hope that helps! ![]() Shoe Stores Review 2013 | Best Online Shoe Stores | Buy Shoes Online - TopTenREVIEWS |

Yeah, many brands only make up through a size 10. It sucks.

I know what you mean. When I came to the US (more than 20 years ago), I was size 9.5. I did not have as many troubles.
With each child (I do not know if it is typical), my feet would become bigger. Now size 11. Yes, the jump from 10 to 11 really means much fewer choices. |

My feet are a UK size 8 and I hate it - I especially hate it when sizes are stingy and the 8 doesn't fit, most lines here don't go up to 9 so I can't just go up a size.

I had the annoying job of going shoe shopping today. My feet are too big for most 10s (by just a little), and too small for 11s. So I'm pretty much screwed all the time. Plus my feet are skinny and i need a big toe box for my shoes. I found 3 shoes out of the entire dsw that fit. And one i couldn't get because they were open toed and i need closed toed for work. i hate shoe shopping.

I think my cousin has us all beat. She wears size 12 men's shoes (she is also significantly over 6 feet). I don't even know where she shops for shoes. I should ask.

My feet are 10 1/2 which is worse.... tens to tight, if they have an 11 they are too loose. Most manufacturers do half sizes only as high as 9 1/2... I end up buying men's sneakers and sandals. Good thing I dress casual.

Oddly enough, despite the difficulty I have finding shoes, I frequently get complimented for having "pretty feet." No one ever believes my feet as big as they are-- probably because they're thin and narrow, I always have a fresh pedicure, a toe ring, and heels on. I figure, if I'm forced to be a girl with big feet, I might as well make them as cute as I can! |

![]() So I wanted to go to a brick-and-mortar DSW, but it is far from me, so I have been putting it off. Today I complained to my hairdresser. She said that one of her clients wears size 12 and swears by Nordstrom Rack. So I went there - it is close enough. It certainly felt better to be there than at Ross, because the selection for sizes above 10 is better (much more expensive, though). After spending a couple of hours, I bought three pairs of shoes which I will wear at home to see if they really fit (the return policy is 30 days). I then looked at the selection for size 10. Indeed, it is bigger and better - apparently, some manufacturers simply stop producing above size 10. And then I looked at sizes 5-8... yum... I want to have these kind of choices... oh well! The selection for sizes 5-8 is MUCH more varied than even for size 10. And some shoes look as cute as pie. I feel the same when I look at the selection of A-B bras - there are SO many choices! No, it is worse with the shoes, because in reality I do not care much, right now, about the laciness/prettiness of bras, as long as they provide support, but I do do do want to wear pretty shoes! |

I'm basically a size 11 1/2! An 11 wide will work sometimes and sometimes a 12 will work, but whenever you find sizes that size, it's like the manufacturers want to punish you for having feet that big! 90% of them are butt ugly!

I wear an 11 wide which means I'm usually stuck wearing men's shoes. When I do find 11s usually they are 11 narrow because apparently if you are going to have long feet they have to be skinny

Oh how I relate!!
Women's shoes are a nightmare for me. I hardly even check anymore. I wear an 11 wide, but they are only wide in the toe box, so if I find a pair that fit the front they are floppy in the heel. I also have the one foot about a half size bigger than the other. Years ago I would go to a shoe dept., find a shoe I liked, and ask for a size 11. I did that for years and it was SO frustrating! At some point I got a bit smarter and I would tell the salesperson what I was looking for, and ask them to bring me what they had of that type in an 11. Much less frustration, but I would still go home empty-handed because, of course, they would bring out one ugly shoe. At this point I have pretty much given up on the idea of cute shoes. Back in 2007 I lost 80 lbs. and my feet didn't change at all. After gaining it all back (meds-Grr!), the only change is now I'm too fat to want to buckle or tie anything. Sorry for carrying on so, but you don't often get the chance to vent this to anyone. Well I do but no one gets it. Thanks Hamster ![]() I'm now wearing a pair of men's slip on shoes for winter and men's sandals for summer. If I need sneakers I wear a pair of my husband's (some of his shoes are too small for me-nice, not enough that I weigh more than him). Thank God I discovered men's shoes way back when! Now if I knew where transvestite men buy their heels I'd be set ![]() |

I have a colleague, Jeff, who wears heels to work. And... I can see that his feet are smaller than mine. No point asking him!!

Zappos is the BEST for shoes (and returning them) if no one has mentioned that yet...
I think I have average-sized feet (8.5) BUT I have the most NARROW feet possible...when I was little I remember sitting there getting new shoes for school and the salesman would lace them up, pulling tighter and tighter, over and over and OVER and my heels would STILL slip out of them. Sigh. Tortured childhood memory moment. ![]() Now I wear a lot of heels and wedges, etc...I have to put pads on the bottom (usually 2) and definitely behind the heel and any other place I can to fill up space my foot won't. (I also have super long toes so I need a roomy toebox.) ![]() And I always have to punch extra holes in the straps of sandels so I can make them tighter...my father did that for me until I finally bought my own leather punch in college. Trying to get my feet to stay in shoes is exhausting!! ![]() |

I wear an 11 wide. Totally sucks. I have found that Tom's fit my fat foot. They're a little tight when I first get them, but they stretch out. I found a pair of flats at walmart that were 11 wide. Mostly I wear sandals/flip flops, so the wideness doesn't matter. I used to go to a shoe store in the town over from me and they would let me look at their size 11 wall. They used to think it was so funny that I'd just ask to go back there. Took the hassle out of me wandering around asking if things came in my size. I used to wear Birkenstocks all the time, but the pair I have now are busted and I don't have money to replace them.
I feel sorry for my sister-in-law, she wears a 14, but she's also 6'3". My husband and his brother have it bad too. My husband wears an 18 and his brother wears a 20. Try finding those kind of sizes. |

I wear size women's 12 sneakers. I had such a hard time finding colorful sneakers, but with a bit of work, I finally found a pair. I also had a very hard time finding colorful socks in my size. I would leave stores almost in tears because I wondered why people can't make fun colorful socks in larger sizes, but I finally found some socks that I love. ^^
