I remember when I was 11 My dad will give me rub my back with his hands. When I 16 my dad will stare at my butt and breast when I walk by or when I sitting in the front set of the car with him. I also remember walking down the hall wearing some exercise pants all of the sudden i felt something touched my butt turned around it was my dad. at 19 years old I remember when my dad talking to me out of Nowhere he slid his hands on my arms to my hips. I'm still close with my dad, but it still bother me to the fact I get depressed and angry think about it. Do you think my dad molested or sexual abused me?

it is hard to know if he molested you or if he was just being inappropriate. we tend to block memories of abuse. only long term therapy can uncover whether abuse really happened. regardless, it is ok to be angry at him for the inappropriateness you describe. welcome to psych central. you will find that we have several forums where you can post about your concerns and receive feedback from other members. you will get a lot of support here. again, welcome

What is the difference between "molested" and "being inappropriate"? I think they're the same thing.

From what you've described, star87, your dad has definitely been inappropriate/molested you. I'm sorry to say it, but I can only tell you the truth as I see it.

I agree with sister rags. What he did was an abusive thing for a dad to do. Get therapy to deal with it. Godbless
