True. I know I'd rather get it when I'm suppose to instead of not getting it and being worried sick.
But I know most women would have the choice if never getting it than getting it if we had the choice to ever get periods.

i know this is really old but i just got round to reading it and thought id fill you all in on my last little bout with the curse.
it was a bright sunny morning and i was in the car on the way to a funeral when the first cramps hit. i figured it was too early to start and there were no toilets in range anyway so i took the risk they would go away and my family and i took our place about 3/4 of the way up the church in the first row behind the division in the seats. about 10 minutes into the mass the cramps are still there and they have brought reinforcements in the form of dizziness and weakness - a sure sigh im going to be in trouble in a few minutes. i start to sweat. which of course means i cant really tell if theres anything happening i need to know about. its going to be a long day so i panic and take the risk. i grab the car keys, wait until the whole church stands up, genuflect and make my way in as dignified a manner as possible to the exit. its an army funeral so i keep my head down while the members of the 21 guard salute thingy march into the courtyard and several rather high ranking soldiers stare at me. over to the shop across the road and i get a packet of always and a box of painkillers. feeling a bit stupid for being caught out like this but freaking more about how the hell im going to get naked to use the damn pad. the only option was the car so ... well you can imagine. i tried to smile as innocently as i could at the parking lot attendant as he walked past staring just as i was buttoning up again. back down the road to the church and i tried to hide in the back until everyone stood up for another prayer and then i started down the aisle. however i misjudged it and as soon as i started to walk everyone went and bloody well sat down again so i was left brazenly striding down the middle of the church in full view before moving three people to get back into my original seat. it was at that point the tears id been dealing very well with up to then came pouring out. i was upset obviously because it was a funeral but talk about a total emotional overreaction! i couldnt stop crying. sigh. anywho after the mass i made it back across to the same shop and bought four bars of chocolate. they werent all for me but talk about a walking cliche!! pads and painkillers and then back for an armfull of chocolate??! and as it turns out i didnt even start until the day after. so to mr. whats his name which his 'happy period', i would like to extend to him an invitation to lock himself in a small room with me around this time next month. ![]() |

_Sky said: The letter was rather amusing imo... but I'm more concerned about all you ladies with so much trouble over this. While there are some ppl who can't get total relief, there are things that can help you not have such a tough time each month. Speak with your MDs, check out the meds/herbal remedies, work on the frame of mind... in some cultures this is a happy/joyous time, you know? Blue/black cohosh, evening primrose oil and many other things help alleviate and prevent severe problems. Sometimes fibroids cause heavy periods also... Stress absolutely can affect the timing, which is more distressing if you forget to plan for this... Taking control and working on the problems you are experiencing will also give you a sense of control... right now it sounds to me as though being out of control (being controlled by your monthly) adds to your stress. ![]()

Are you %#@&#! kidding me? ROFL. . .that's a good one Sky.

Oh are you serious Raynaadi?
The Luna cup. . .I think another company makes one called the Diva as well. They are Finnish, and ever since I discovered them, have had a heck of a lot less problems with my cycles, messes, and accidents. I'll post a new thread about it, so we don't hijack this one, ok? Grace

Hi, great letter..
I think a copy of this should be sent to every man in the world.... They might get the message... Men do tend to snigger to each other about women, saying things like " don`t worry, she`s just on her monthly`s" AAAAwwwwwwwwwwwww... |
