I take birth control pills and everything was normal this month - I took my pills and then got my period the final week. Now I have started eating the pills again but I have started bleeding heavily again.. And I'm sorry for being graphic but it's clotting a lot and Im having bad cramps. Has anyone else experienced this? This is the third type of BC I am on and I am just getting worried now. I'm going to the doctor but if anyone has any similar experience please let me know.

It's possible that it's not the pills causing this. Is there any family history of fibroids? My periods have been known to do as you describe. It's actually thick mucus as is my understanding. Probably wouldn't change around pills too often??

i dealt with painful and severe clotting periods until i had an operation 5 years ago to stop my periods as it was so bad. i would also get emotionally distraught each time. i found out i had polyps to be removed too. i havnt had a period since the operation, i have no symptoms either. i was on the pill and it made me ave a 3 month period so i went off of them. good luck

Yeah I've had a similar experience too. There are medications out there to help; you might want to speak to your doctor about options here. I eventually landed up having the Mirena fitted, which is what my GP recommended - and honestly? It's the best decision I've made. But that's because it was made bearing in mind that I do not wish to have more kids.
