Hello Womyn Relationships w/ womyn (Friendship or Work related)...

I'm sure I am not the only female that has difficulties relating to other womyn or co-existing with other womyn.

Specifically.....in work related situations...I have a VERY DIFFICULT time dealing with the cattyness and 2-faced behavior of some female staff members. At times it reminds me of jr. high clique behaviorisms...etc. It's easy to say "take the high road" and "don't let it bother you" .... but it bothers me greatly.

Friendships w/ womyn.... in grp situations ...... how do you not let "pms" like behavior or jealously......or whatev vibes get to you?

How does one create a balance and not become overwhelmed by some womyn that thrive on cattyness or not even aware how immature and self-centred they are being?

Well those are the ladies that you do not bother with. There are plenty of other down to earth genuine people out there that are certainly alot more fun to work with and relate to. As for PMS... many of us have it. My coworker and I might as well joke about it as we tend to recognize it in ourselves and each other. We make lite of it but also...mentioning or recognizing it is a good way to lighten the load.

I tend to see in other people the way I don't want to be for myself.....and if I stick to my guns around those people and be myself, they tend to fade away.....like if they're gossiping about someone and I don't chime in, or if I make a nice comment about the person they're gossiping about, they tend to quit the gossiping around me. When they see that I'm not going to be catty and gossipy around them, they tend not to be catty and gossipy around me, because its no fun for them. I try to practice patience, love and tolerance....because it creates a much more peaceful existance for myself. And I also just feel bad for those kinds of people who have to bolster themselves by putting down others.

Maybe if you have the mindset that you're going to work to earn a paycheck and not to make friends, you can just focus on getting your work done and ignore the catty women. Its a really hard situation....women can sure be horrible to each other!!!!!

I have encountered this too , many times. But now that I am older, I am finding there are other types, you just need to find them as friends. As far as coworkers go, you can't really avoid them, and if you try to be different, they may single you out and make things difficult for you. I am not sure what to do because you really can't change people. Maybe find someone you notice not doing it, and try to hang out with them. Good luck. You are in a tough situation.
