My hair is thin on top. I sort of have a bald spot on top of my head. It's been like that for a long time. I'm not sure what caused it to happen. I have gotten many hair treatments done in the past, so that might've caused some hair loss.
Anyways, does that hair treatment (forgot what's it's called, minoxil or something like that) work on women? It's kind of expensive, and I don't want to waste money on anything that doesn't work. Does Nioxin work too? In the meantime, I use colored fiber powder to fill in the bald spots. It covers the semi bald spot well, but it does smear on my face and hands, so I can't touch my hair when I wear it. I have also tried vitamins for hair, skin, and nails, but that doesn't work either. And my diet is usually good. Is there anything I can do to stop my hair from thinning at the top? |

Thanks. I think that I'll try that and the drugstore stuff for women. I'll just have to save the receipt just in case I don't notice any changes after a month or two. |

Spironolactone. You can Google it and see if it might help you

Try to skip shampoo and do home treatments like apply Aloe vera, natural ingredients like henna etc.

I dont know how old you are but it could be a number of things, Have you ever had any blood work done to check for your thyroid and hormone levels, Have you ever been to a dermatologist to check into your problem, They can tell if you have alopecia and what kind it is, The main one is female pattern baldness, Have you ever thought of buying a half wig, It would cover your thinning spots only and not be a whole wig, There are alot of videos on Youtube about hair loss and what other women have done, I have heard once you start using that medicine you have to use it the rest of your life

I'm in my early 40's. No, I haven't really had any of those tests done specifically for hair loss issues. Supposedly my thyroid is normal. My last check up for that was a year ago though. I haven't had a dermatologist look at things for a long time. The last one told me to use Rogaine. I bought some, so I'll start using it consistently. It's not that bad to where I'd need a wig. My hair is just thin on top, but it's not severe. I can easily cover it with a hair powder, but it does smear at times, so I have to be careful to not touch my hair or it'll get on my hands and sun glasses. I think that it's genetic as both my mom and dad have thin hair now. They both have huge bald spots. My mom doesn't take care of herself or her hair, so that's part of the problem. My younger sister claims to have thin hair now too, but I don't notice any issues with her hair. Mine is on top, hers is more on the sides she claims. Part of it is due to stress too I think. I get stressed out easily. Maybe it has to do with age too. For now, the powder works fine, but I'll have to start using shampoo like Nioxin on a regular basis soon to keep things from getting worse. It also doesn't help that I color my hair, get it straightened, and wash it every couple of days and blow dry it most of the time too. |
