So, I'm having an issue. My period is 11 days late. I'm having cramping pains on and off. And here's the thing. I am NOT sexually active, so I know I'm not pregnant. Any thoughts?

Also, pardon, my screen name. It's my cat's name. Not mine. I just do not want to give out my real name.

Do you normally get cramping pains with the periods when they are NOT late?

Periods can be late due to any number of reasons, stress, sudden weight loss or gain, or hormone fluctuations that you may not be aware of. I never had regular periods as an adult, sometimes I'd go months without having one, and then boom.

If you're having normal cramps, it'll likely start soon.

Have you had any medication changes recently? Med changes used to make my periods late sometimes.

All of the above sound about right. If your periods do continue to be irregular or different in what's normal for you, noting that with your healthcare team is advisable.
Thanks for this!

I take birth control so I don't get a period anymore. If I did, and it was late, I'd be thrilled, haaa!

11 days really isn't that late. If you go 3 months without one then possibly start to worry but I wouldn't before then.

So much of this depends on...so much.

Perhaps your mind would be eased if you make an appointment with your doctor?

Have you been under a lot of stress and/or sick lately? That could cause your period to be late (or early). I agree that you should check with a doctor, just to be safe.

I used to have totally random periods but then I had pcos....personally wouldn't worry about it....for pcos they'll treat you with birth control to normalize things if you want.
