So have been taking this progesterone tablet since Friday. One of the side effects of this is depression which I do not need any push in this direction at all. Last year I spent 3 stints in a mental health clinic on three separate occasions. I was exhausted due to the excess bleeding.

Today my GP told me that I needed to choose between no bleeding, which thankfully, the progesterone has curtailed, and accepting that the pill is going to nudge my depression up. Or stop taking this pill and put up with bleeding. Back to suicidal thought and depression or the nightmare that is part of a woman's lot.......

Been taking the progesterone as advised and stopped last week again as advised. It was good for control. Saw the gyn today and it has all kicked off since stopping it last week. I was advised that I am no longer ovulating but the imbalance in estrogen and progesterone is the culprit.

Pain, pain pain............. Hope it a settles down again soon. I will be taking the progesterone non stop from now and go back in three months to see the gyn.

Hi possum, If you continue taking the progesterone, how will you cope withe the depression that it causes? I'm concerned about that.

Thanks for responding Laurie. I was advised to take half the dose of progesterone and I have been doing that since I saw the gyn in the hope that my mood would improve. Up shot of this is that the lower dose does not control my bleeding. Last period is now two weeks and counting. My mood is still off.

I know that I need to increase the progesterone from the physical aspect but mentally it is not good. My P'doc wants to increase my anti'd's but I really don't like the side effects of the progesterone or psych meds. Catch 22 I suppose.

I think I need to contact the gyn before she goes away for two months.

Yes, please contact her before she leaves. Catch-22, indeed...

I tried to contact her and she tried to contact me but we missed each other.

The lower dose of progesterone has not been of much help. Still seems to be the year of the period. The gyn wrote down what I was to do before she left and advised for me to stop taking it for 4 days to clear the system out so i have. OMG so much pain I will spare you the details of the rest of it.

Part of me is reluctant to go back on the progesterone yet this is nuts. I hate the female side of things. The gyn is not back for another 6 weeks. Sorry just having a whinge.
