I am wondering if any other women have tried the Yaz birth control pill for PMDD? I am 37 with 4 children and have never taken birth control. Now, I am trying it to see if it can help my PMDD which has seemed to get really bad in the past year. So this is my first month on the pack and after 3 rows of pills, I started to spot blood. It has increased over the week to yesterday it was a full blown period, could not have gotten through going out in public without putting in a tampon. So I am on my 7th day of bleeding and I should not actually start my period until tomorrow!!! I normally only bleed 3 days max and only one of those do I have to wear tampons..... the other 2 I can get away with a light pad. Last night I bled all over my pjs.... I don't usually bleed at night, so this is most unusual. I have called the doctor and they have not returned my call yet. Does any of this sound ok to anyone out there? I am sorry if I am gross or should not be talking to this degree.... I don't mean to offend anyone.... I just am scared as to what is going on and am a bit down and tired by the blood loss and maybe the change in emotions that the pill is causing? Any thoughts?
Thanks
Juli

this is their website. irregular bleeding is one of the most common side effects. also, it has the usual warnings about women over 35 and smokers. please be careful. take a look around their website, it of course is there to sell you their product, but make sure you read all the fine print.

Never tried yaz, no bleeding doesnt gross me out, your okay to talk about it. Well, you should have seen how long i was bleeding when i was on depo! oh my gosh my x boss was like "dont trust anything that bleeds longer than 7 days and doesnt die!"... I bled for 2 weeks straight, and it never let up, then sloooowly started getting lighter.
