I have to submit my accomplishments to my department manager on Monday, as part of the Annual Reveiw process.
Honestly, I can think of none. This has been a difficult year, with big changes in the company halfway through the year; it has been a struggle since. I've changed job titles and duties since then, and struggled to adapt, adjust, and perform to standards (mine and theirs). I believe I only need to submit accomplishments for the 1st half of the year, when I was under a different manager, so I would be reporting my accomplishments as my job of supervisor. It was a routine year. The best I can think of is that my 'team' met the weekly deadline. I also learned to handle conflict better however, I have become the source of conflict now, due to my inability to adjust quickly - so I don't want to put things like that in my reporting because it will seem like an untruth. I have googled and thought about it. I think I'm held back because of what has happened recently and that my manager is currently not satisfied with my work and angry with me because of my behavior episodes (which happened again after several apologies - behavior that isn't "me" and that concerns me very much. And yes, I'm talking to my therapist about it.) This is my chance to give examples of how I've been a valuable employee and all I can think about, is that I'm not. What would you do? |

I don't know what area you work in but I would write down what your strengths are and then give examples of things you did that reflect on these things. I would mention that your team met the deadline but at the same time I would stress how you helped achieve this goal. Show your boss exactly what tasks you performed and what that says about how trustworthy/communicative/innovative etc you are.

At this point, my manager is very displeased with me and my work.
Even without this going on, I don't know my strengths, etc. and I haven't really managed the changes - I'm still 'fighting' them and it's affecting my performance. The 1st 2/3 of the year were under a very different manager. I think I might try to respond as if I'm responding to that manager, but I feel like anything I say will be considered fiction by the new manager. Oy. |

Echoes,
I can understand, oh so much, how hard it is. I hate those things! To me, it's like asking me to pretend I'm perfect when I know I'm not. I tend to forget that no one is!! You've proven on PC many times how valuable you are. Try to give yourself permission to take the risk and put you on paper, it's all transferable! I like the idea of responding as if to your former manager, the review is for the whole year, isn't it? I also agree with Pachy, the words you used above sound like excellent accomplishments to me. If you're honest with the depth of your being, you will find you have accomplished much. You can do this! ![]()

(((( everyone ))))
I came up with a list of 11 items, believe it or not. Not sure if it's what she wants, but I guess I'll find that out tomorrow... ![]() ![]() |
