I appreciated the posts on highly sensitive people. However, none of them said what I was expecting. When I experience an emotion, I feel it very strongly. I just started a new job (six weeks ago). I am highly criticized daily. I care about my job very deeply. I enjoy the work I do very much. However, I CANNOT handle the criticism! Even today I am looking for a new job. The criticism is tearing me apart. I feel like if I dont escape soon, I will literally lose my marbles! Seeking hope and peace.

I didn't see your other post or what people have responded to you so I don't know what you were looking for. I can say that I understand sensitive emotions in the workplace. Have you talked with HR or your supervisor about this? One on one, of course, and be open and honest. Since you care about your job and love your work, I hope you find a way to keep it!!

That's really hard! I know as a HSP, I have found having therapy has helped my assertiveness. I also ask 'why?' and 'what do I need to do differently?' to my manager.

It's hard being a HSP! But feelings can be managed xx

I read a book a while back, called "Highly Sensitive People" and it helped me a lot. I have gotten better over the years at not taking everything personally, but it was long hard road. You have to realize that people who are criticizing you, have their own issues, and sometimes criticizing others is a way that they don't have to look at their own faults.

Also, working in any environment where you have different personalities can be challenging. I work in a large office full of mostly women, and some of them act like they are still in high school-- grown women my age, 50 years old, who have bad tempers & can't get along with others. I have learned to tune them out by playing my music on my headset, & basically limiting who I will be 'friends' with in the office. Out of 30 people, I only consider 1 co-worker my friend, the other people are just co-workers that I get along with by not letting myself be pulled into their immature dramas. It takes a lot of discipline on my part every day, to not be bothered by their pettiness but it does get easier with more practice.
