As some of you probably know, I've had a LOT of trouble finding a job in my field (PR ) I keep debating with myself as to whether it would be worthwhile to go back to school for another degree . One in which companies are actually hiring .
Since I already took all the main classes, and have taken plenty of electives, it wouldn't take me nearly as long to graduate .
I want to do something worthwhile with my life, career-wise. I'm currently exploring other options . Have offered to volunteer for some local companies in PR, to get some connections and all.
I'm just wondering what my best options are. I know nobody can really know that . Just kinda brainstorming here, and open to suggestions .

Are there any non-profit organizations with a mission you care about that may need some help in a PR/marketing capacity? Most non-profit organizations have a person or team that is sort of geared towards charitable giving and donor relations and I could see being able to dovetail your PR training into a relationship management sort of capacity. Just a thought :-)
Thanks for this!

Even with degrees where companies are hiring you can still have difficulty getting a foot in the door. Since you have one degree I would look at what you like to do. Take an assessment of skills you have and see if you can find something you like from that. I know that is very vague. What color is your parachute would probably be a good resource for you.

Volunteering is a good start. Maybe you just need a marketing plan for yourself connecting with professional groups on linkedin or on meetup are good ways to get tips and meet people. Who knows you might hear about a job. Any sort of temp job in a pr firm can work sometimes. I don't know much about that career field so those are very general suggestions. What about political campaigns. Volunteer for that and maybe you have a foot in the door when primaries heat up.
