all this electronic and voicemail stuff certainly is frustrating. especially when they don't specify what they want so you can provide them with the needed information in time. make sure you document al your contacts. I would flood the voicemail system and email system making sure to state that you are contacting them in time. make sure to print out copies for your claims.

My concern had to do with one of the flags on the website that automatically is triggered when you fill in the amount of money you were paid per week. It said I was contesting the amount I was calculated to receive in unemployment, when I wasn't at all. The guy explained this is automatic and unless I really was contesting it, to ignore it which I did. I began receiving funds about 2 weeks after I was supposed to (back funds too) so it worked out. I would suggest trying to calm down..I know, easier said than done, and of course we're in two different states, but I think for the most part, this branch of gov bureaucracy is probably pretty much the same. If it goes more than a week past the time you should be receiving funds, then call again. Not sure if your phone system works the same, but when the voice mail starts, and requests your social, just wait it out. I know it's hard to do, but don't press any buttons at all and you will be sent to a human...just make sure you're calling at LEAST 3 hours before they 'close'. Hope this helps some. Take care

That sounds really stressful. Dealing with unemployment really is nerve wracking. I think my claim went through more quickly (it wasn't contested by my employer), but I kept getting contradictory info in the mail and via voicemail. They scheduled telephone appointments but then never kept them.
At least you don't have much longer to wait -- I hope it come through for you! |

If you originally filed in May, then it seems kind of long to wait until the end of July. Mine took about 3 weeks from when I filed to get my first pay. The employer had something like 10 days to contest it. Always be sure to give them the minimum of info. If the employer does contest, it is up to them to provide proof. No sense helping them with any incriminating statements! Good luck!

Let us know how it goes, Mrs. Mania. I don't know how North Carolina's system works. It does seem a long time to have to wait if you lost your job in May.
