I am planning on becoming a mental health advocate. I applied to be a member of the Local Human Rights Committee, but haven't heard back from them yet. I also applied to an online paralegal program that will first give me a certificate and if I continue, a bachelor's degree (I already have an associates in General Studies.) in paralegal studies and a minor in psychology.

I am hoping to eventually start a program for mental health advocacy, including legal advocacy, and mental wellness.

Welcome to Psych Central (PC) LongRoadUphill. Sorry you did not get an immediate response. People often put their first post in New Member Introductions. There they get a warm welcome.

Congratulations on persisting to work in mental health advocacy. That is something many people will benefit from. Many people here are involved with mental health services, so having you as a member is a plus.

Many people find compassionate, caring people here at PC. Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com
