I realised that it is still not easy, to deal with having a job on a permanent, life long basis.
![]() It is like, my sole goal is to not get fired, not career advancement or whatsoever. |

Maybe work on the areas that leave you fearing termination first, before worrying about advancement?

I've ADHD and just managing deadlines and basic tasks seems horribly hard for me. I usually can last for a few months before losing steam.... and it seems like that is going to happen again and again

No Pain, No Gain, brother. No day is an easy day. You just to work your *** off. And that's what life is all about. The good thing about it is that you get to enjoy every pain, every sweat, every sacrifices that you made, it's just worth it.
Of course, we also find time to enjoy our time. Drink beers, bbq with the dudes, party party, and then work work work work again, and then party party party. That's what life is all about. One more thing, don't forget to share what you have, man. Help people that are in need of help. |

Being forced to work everyday to survive is an atrocity of life. It is a major cause of my depression. The hardest part is being stuck in a small area and being forced to be fake and nice to co-workers you can't stand on a daily basis. It's almost unbearable.

yes, Hvert, for me, having to be there..as well. Just everything about being forced to give 8 hours of my day for money so that I can eat and not have to live on the street depresses me to no end. I try to correct my negative thoughts with positive thoughts everyday to get through, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, it is a battle everyday.

I hear you... work or "career" has been rough lately. Your main goal is to just make it through the day only for it to start all over again. Kind of like a bad version of Ground Hogs Day.

It can be hard and take a while after school, getting use to the working world. I remember how depressed I was at my first job (and half my second). But it does get easier, just like it was hard when we were young children going off to school? Eventually some of the routines wear off on us so we get use to the tasks and feel more competent doing them and get to know some of the people and that they don't bite, etc. We change to another job and, as so very scary that is (I spent 5-10 years in my 40's taking part-time jobs and quitting them, just to get those two sequences easier?) we live through it. Experience and practice. It can take some of us a bit of time. I'm 65 now though and looking back, it's okay. Think of how scary it is on an amusement park ride or watching a scary movie but it turns out okay. Life can be like that and when we get use to it, we can use the feelings to make it more comfortable/fun instead of so scary.
