it is known at my job that my boss had a crush on my coworker D. Not knowing this fact I quickly became friends with D when I first got the job. They have drinks together, and the boss calls him on the phone on occasion. D gets special privledges like extra hours (part-time job) and can pick and choose his assignments.
My boss first alerted that specifically, D and I talk too much. It seems the boss was jealous of my friendship with D. At my review he said I am doing better at the job, with the one reason cited being that I socialize less. Well, truth is, I told D I don't want to be friends with him, amd in addition I've gone out of my way to hardly talk to anyone, while everyone else socializes a lot. Being so quiet goes against my nature. I told my boss' boss about this all and he simply smirked at me. I feel like crying all the time at this job because I feel so isolated and picked on. |

It sounds like your boss is jealous of your relationship with D. Simple as that. And I'd say you are being isolated and picked on. And the fact that the higher boss just smirked at you and didn't do anything to help the situation really sucks. Does your work have any regulations about on the job dating? Is there someone else you can put in a complaint into? If you can't find any relief here I would start looking for a new job. I just left a job where my boss would hit on every girl and It was so unprofessional and just wrong. I was also picked on by the women who had more seniority and every day was miserable!

I think I could talk to the HR department but I have a feeling they won't care either! Bah. I'm gonna try to switch departments.
