I'm an intern in a service department. It's been almost two months since I started the internship.
I deal with customers at the front line and put the data of customers' application on the computer. I should have already known all of policies and procedures of the company by now. The problem is, I make many mistakes everyday. Today I was told that if I don't improve my work ability in a week, I will get fired. My boss will reassess me in 14th of March But I felt like I have to get rid of my stuff from the desk by that day. I started to bring my things back home so that I won't feel depressed on the very last day. What I'm concerned about is that does my boss just want to make me improve the job performance or should I work myself up to say good bye? |

Have they offered you help to improve your performance? It sounds like you are trying your best but have had issues, can you ask for support to improve?

They gave us some guidelines. Generally those are helpful but there are plenty of variables. What's confusing is every officer has different theories. In case of notaries, there are so many different variables that interns cannot deal with. Two days ago there was a notary case I have never had before. So I asked to a staff and she put a notary stamp on the left side of the document instead of me. Suddenly the other officer came to me and said it was wrong. The other officer it might feel like I put the stamp because I didn't tell him wasn't me. Officers told interns ask for help. So I did ask for help but officets are block the opportunity to improve my skills. And they say It would be better to leave there if I don't improve it. It doesn't make sense.
