![]() I am not sure what to say about why I've been out of work so long. It's due to my disability, mental health. And complacency. I've been wanting to work since last year actually. I have been volunteering for 6 months. I'm just not sure how to explain 2 long job absences. I have a spotty job history due to mental health and being on disability. I do have a plan though. I am exploring interests, and think I might go back to trade school for office technology. I'm also interested in working with my hands, and body, very much. My goal is to work full time. Become independent. I need money. |

I had an interview yesterday for one of the cleaning jobs. It went well. I am so depressed today though. My life sucks and I don't trust myself to show up consistently if I do get the job because I tend to have issues with showing up. I just really want independence from my ****ing parents house.

Find a job you don't mind or even one you like. For me it was stocking items at a large store because it's active and there is always something to do. For you it may be something you didn't expect. Good luck. ![]() |

If a potential employer asks about a gap in your history, you could say that you were taking a break and figuring out what you wanted to do with your life. You can even lie and say you were taking classes or travelling! Quote:
I totally hear you on the parents thing! I don't live at home anymore, but I'm still financially dependent and it SUCKS because they feel they can control you.
