Been on SSDI since 2004. Haven't functioned well since age 13. Will I ever work again?

Maybe, maybe not. Do you want to go back to work? If so, what holds you back?

I am on disability and am able to work part-time, but when I first got on it I never would have been able to work. It took quite a bit of time before I found a job that matched well with my mental health issues and working personality. My job involves working alone for the most part, at my own pace. It's not too overwhelming like the food industry was.

Some people on disability like to try volunteering first before going back to work. Would that be a possibility for you?

And regardless of whether or not you can work, you are still a human being who deserves happiness and respect. Please don't judge yourself harshly if you are unable to work.
