Maybe im getting paranoid but seems like whenever I use my phone to text or browse the internet, my manager knows about it and know what is being texted.
I dont go on the work wifi but my cell providers network. Do employers have some kind of app or way to read your personal text messages on your own phone? |

Hi hyacinth1. Welcome to Psych Central. It may be possible your phone is setup to switch to wifi when available.
Our boss at my job basically said anything you do on company computers is known. He also hated people on their cell phones. Maybe saving cell phone use to breaks or lunch will make your boss happier. My dad always said "8 for 8". 8 hours work for 8 hours pay.

While it is technically possible, to do so would likely be illegal, unless you agreed to it in advance. If your phone is connecting to wifi, or a private cellular repeater, belonging to the employer, then it could happen that way. It's also possible that you might have an employer supplied app installed that could monitor your texting.
TBH, it's much more likely that someone simply saw you & the manager got wind of it that way. |
