We look back at the early days of the Industrial Revolution . There's a school of thought that this was a tough time for the average worker . They were lured into the towns and city's , with the promise of living a better life and making money . The reality was mostly , over crowding , poor health , over work , family unit breakdown . It spurred communism and revolt by the unwashed masses . Which didn't work as it was not really for the benefit of the mass population , but just more men wanting power .
So today we have it right , no one is over worked , no one has mental health problems from being trapped in a never ending debt cycle and mindless soul destroying jobs . No one is bored with there life as they spend most of it doing a dead end job they don't care about .
I think in 300 years they will look at us as we look at those poor ******'s from the Industrial Revolution . They will see that a couple of percent of the world owns 90% of the worlds wealth and just about everyone else slaves away at jobs that barely allow them to continue existing . They will see us as brainwashed sheep who defend a system which gives us little chance of finding happiness ... and it starts in school where we are brainwashed to accept this is the only way .
In 300 years they may have found another way , or maybe they won't and still be wasting lives in this industrial conveyer belt . I wish I had been born a dolphin , they don't spend a lot of time concerned about their mortgage or if the had made enough tin cans today to keep the boss happy .
I know the above will not be well received , to agree would mean everything we have worked for in our life is a sham , and indeed I've spent 40 years slaving away so I'm a bit of a hypocrite yes ? Oh well , I'm not creating a president , Karl Marx preached about the unfairness of our labour society ...and he never actually ever had a job
I know , I know , it does no good to rage against the machine . This is the way it is , because it is , because it is .....doesn't make it right though .
Thanks for this!

I agree with you that in 300 years they will look back at the design of our current work force and view it as dysfunctional and miserable. I wonder if we got a glimpse of the future would we think it’s any better?

Good point Sis , we are here in this position because of the basic human disfunction of a thirst for power and greed . That will influence the future for sure .

The very first revolt began over shorted pay. When they imposed child labor laws they then started playing games with the workers for the kids being in the parks next to the factory. Schools were then established.

As much as "the machine stinks"it's better than the alternative. You know...Lenin had a bone to pick with the tsar over the death of his brother. Plus it was hard to watch the glottony of the aristocracy. 3K people were trampled at a wedding and they carried on like nothing happened. Some of our immigration stories are to escape what happens when the ideal of marx starts infecting the disgruntleds....
Thanks for this!

Each to their own opinion and if that's your take on the history of the labor movement in one sentence I am happy for you to say so .
If you will permit me to say however , I see no connection with my original post and your reply . Again , there doesn't have to be. But just to be clear , I don't subscribe or align myself with any of the power hungry , fascism by another name systems you mention as alternatives .
