Our workplace is becoming infested by the use of the the word stuff mostly by the managers.
The context can be any:
Sort this out and stuff
Get rid of some stuff [this was what my previous boss said first thing as I showed up at the office on day one)
Good stuff - as a comment on anything you say

How to deal with that indirectly ?

Do many people find such behaviour downright aggressive?

No it’s just one of those words that fill the space “like” “things” “stuff” “et cetera”. I don’t think it’s aggressive

I don't think it's meant to be aggressive, cklasik. However, if it bothers you, you could ask your managers to avoid using that word or to use it less often. I think it's a legitimate request and it shouldn't be too hard for them. But I think they mean well. Sending many hugs to you

I'm puzzled...

Just realised it would have never occurred to me two people in a row might seriously consider such a possibility.

So from day one, I found my manager such a vicious creature, whereas her comments may have been well-intentioned, completely innocent?...

Then what if the next thing we went to company Facebook and she asked me how to do something, I said I found the menu counterintuitive, to which she answered: 'I think I will just go home'?

Rather obvious for me to think she was playing with meaning: on the surface, she went to Facebook home menu, but in my book, she said 'go home, you're useless'...

Then, if one colleague said something he would later repeat as the main characteristic of the team, that each and every one of the five said only things which had multiple meanings, and they really appeared to do hardly anything else. He said each of them was mad...

What if every time I answered the phone from our clients, the other of the colleagues would start talking aloud, and each and every time time I could pick up the word "stupid"?

Am I the mad one ..

Thanks. I guess the issue is real indeed.
More recently, I have heard the director of finance, who has turned a crowded office into a deserted place as part of the savings plan, saying we will need to have there more staff and stuff - and the latter was just purely an intrusion of no meaning. Now, this can not get much worse, can it?

Not sure what mwaxy meant.
