I meant I’m “thinking” about quitting work.

Yesterday during our mandatory meeting online we were held captive while our boss harangued us for almost a half an hour about something that was not remotely connected to work. No one said anything. We all just sat there. I turned the sound down but I couldn't turn it off completely in case I needed to pretend I had been listening. So I was forced to listen enough to know when she stopped (finally figured that out when she started crying) The whole organization seems to have lost its focus and professional boundaries have been thrown out the window. This triggers my PTSD. I am sitting here right now trying not to freak out. Trying not to freak out is so exhausting.

I got a partial complaint from another student. It is ok. He likes talking to me he says. Well, this company places importance on customer reviews. So, I have to address his concerns. I am stressed out from my schedule. I am tired all of the time these days. I think it is due to my medication. I am trying to also cut back on coffee. I don't drink much but the coffee makes me wired. I feel fine now after sleeping the whole morning. I will be fine. Life continues.

I didn't get a second interview for a job I was very interested in. I'm very disappointed, but as it turns out, they want more of a sales person and did not spell that out in the job description. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise. I would have had to build a service line in the company from the ground floor up and convince new clients to come on board. Not exactly what I have experience in, and not exactly what I wish to do.

I'm still working from home, but the factory workers at my office have to start wearing masks.

My Pdoc asked me if I was scared to go back to work because of the looting

As Tatianna from Drag Race would say

“Thank you”

So, my job is to manage things. My job is straight up to make sure that my boss gets his job done on time.

We have a report that is due every 6 months and even though the report is tricky and somethings aren't on it... he has gotten everything done. But as we have gone on, the lists have gotten longer and longer and he has used more "tricks" to make the list be empty (tricks I taught him but should not have).

But my boss.. spent his entire career blowing deadlines and pretending there was some technical glitch that caused him to miss it.

But as it turns out... if he does that now, he will be throwing ME under the bus, because it is my job to make sure that doesn't happen. No matter what if his work isn't done... it is my fault.

So I do my job and bring things to his attention.

And he resents it. It is impossible for him to claim he didn't know about it when I have 15 e-mails to him informing him of it.

Getting really tried of it.

That's the worst. Nobody appreciates the effort it takes to be civil with these people who don't respect boundaries. Yap, yap, yap, yap.....Ulgh....I wanna scream or pull my hair, but I only manage to say "hmm hmmm that's right" or some other drivel.

I edit general copy and academic papers now and it's been a tough ride thanks to the pandemic. Payment schedules have gone for a toss: I used to get paid every 40 days, but now it takes as long as 55 days. I don't want to torment those in payroll too much coz I know they're doing their best. But I cannot stand project managers who expect unusually quick turn around times. They say editors aren't going out anymore, what else do we gotta do?! Yet, the pay is not acc. to any schedule. I mainly edit Humanities papers, and of late I've been tasked with editing a whole series on "limits of multivariable functions," which is way outta my comfort zone, let alone expertise. I was told I only had to proofread for basic errors when I was coerced into taking it up, but I also ended up doing a more substantive edit. My PM sent me this account on multivariable limits to make it "easier" for me. But when I asked for a deadline extension--since I have to supposedly read this and then attempt an edit--I was denied it. He said, "well there's videos on the material; you can listen as you do other tasks"!

I did two chapters and abandoned the project. Just not worth the effort and hassle. He also sent me more material to read. Phew! So glad I got myself outta that project.

Part of my work includes medical writing. And I had started initially in humanities related subjects, and yes, the transition is a challenge. If you're less mathematically inclined, I can see it would be even more challenging (not sure if that's true for you).

It is quite challenging for me, yes

But I would have liked a little more time for the assignment. After all, putting in the effort to understand something comprehensively serves us well in the long run. I'm now looking up style sheets and editing conventions for statistics-heavy papers so I can do a better job when some similar assignment gets assigned
Thanks for this!

It's really hard to continue working hard for a company that won't recognize your achievements and contributions.

man, i know i work a minimum wage job and it’s not extremely taxing work so .... a message to my coworkers: i can carry empty boxes and tag them, especially if we’re not busy. i appreciate the effort but buddy, pal, i won’t die, i promise. please don’t take the tags out of my hands. also please don’t tell me triggering things when we barely know each other we’re making pizzas right now (i’m genuinely worried as to why one person in particular tells me these super personal and occasionally very triggering things when we aren’t super close. from what u gathered she has a support system so,,, i’m not sure what to say anymore )

the end of my petty gripe for now, haha. trying not to be so petty, i’ll update if i make any progress with that

Did a full week of phone shift and 99% of the phone calls went fine, just this one bad ones has gotten stuck in my head. The customer was an idiot, but I also could've handled it better. I've just had zero training on how to handle these situations and I get panicked easily when someone starts threatening to sue - about something that hasn't even happened yet and is unlikely to happen at all

I confided in our Business Manager/HR Director that I am contemplating divorce and that I've been having a rough time personally. The next day in our company-wide social virtual hour, when the company congratulated a co-worker for their recent engagement and when the CEO asked if anything else was going on personally for us, the Business Manager/HR Director blurted out, "well I'm still married", then the CEO said "I am too". It was SO incredibly insensitive of her to even say such a thing, JUST after I had confided in her. I was livid to say the least, and very hurt by her comment. She clearly doesn't give a damn about me, when I thought she did.

While I'm at it, it was the Business Manager/HR Director's own daughter who was most toxic in the entire office, not too long ago. She whined openly about everyone and everything, muttering complaints and negative statements about co-workers under her breath, she gossiped about others in the office, and basically, she was a very negative and toxic influence within the office altogether. And since she's left, it's been a LOT more peaceful.

And all I can think is, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I think our HR Director is a BIG "B". I cannot wait to leave my company. Just found a new Director level job that's a good fit. We'll see.

I'm spending my waking hours preparing for my lessons. I am trying to do a good job but it is taking time for me. I hope I can become quicker at preparing my lessons eventually.

I'm not sure what you teach, but there are a lot of internet resources that can help. Some free and some not...

I was worried I’d have a change in behavior at work since I’ve had one at home and with my therapist. Thankfully my work behavior is still professional, and I can leave personal problems at home.

I got a fraudulent check in the mail for my services. Ugh. Just a pain because I thought I was going to make money on this. Luckily I had only devoted like an hour to the work so far.

Mickey the Monster, the worst supervisor I have ever known (fortunately not my supervisor), an abusive, racist, misogynistic POS, is gunning for another woman. She complained and was mocked by upper management. How's them apples for morale?

I hope work doesn’t call tomorrow looking for me like they did last week. The funny thing is the manager who told me Tuesday, was there last week and he seemed a bit annoyed at me. I had to ask him for next weeks schedule and he said “it’s supposed to be Tuesday.” Ok. So I have the store manager and another manager calling my house asking where I am and then the manager doing the schedule telling me something else. Whatever. I’ll bring it up tomorrow if they ask but I really can’t go in. I am very sleep deprived and I have to go to the vet with my cat and it’s gonna be very bad.

I set up shifts this week that are at 10 pm my time. I don't know why I did that. I could cancel them...
