I don't mind legitimate complaints but i'm the oldest there by like 15 yrs, and home on full disability (some are 18 & ***** they are soooooooo tired, work is sooooooooo hard) no it's not. you are fluffing towels, moving boxes, etc. I just want to shake them & say grow up...even some of the older ones...
I guess my work ethic is harder.... |

I did call in. I used my sick hours so the only thing the manager said to me was “feel better” my coworker texted me an hour after that and said “I just called in and she got pissed and I think I am going to lose my job.” Well, if you call in twice a week, are tardy 2 other times, and leave early other days. Plus you don’t have any benefits yet, you basically dug your own grave. So don’t come *****ing to me with your problems that are not mine and that I don’t care about. She won’t even explain to work what is going on with her so they can help her out.

I have a medical condition. Most likely narcolepsy. I woke up this morning and I knew today would be a problem. My muscles were weak and I was struggling to stay awake. I was hardly getting any work done. I knew I just had to leave. We were very well staffed and I knew there were other coworkers who could take my place who could be more productive then me. I left very suddenly and I felt like some of my coworkers looked a bit freaked out by how I looked. Even that rude supervisor seemed confused as to what was going on with me .Tonight my coworker texted me and asked how I was feeling and apparently I was right and my coworkers were very concerned about me. This is turning out to be quite a problem. I do have an appointment with a specialist in September. I still don’t feel right even 15 hours later.

Today was the best day I’ve had in awhile at work. I did have a good 400 milligrams of caffeine with me which helped a lot.

inventory.
the pre-pre-threat of the dreaded event the joys of pre-inventory lead up..getting everything in it's right place and counted, only to have people screw with them (damn customers!!! :-) ) and now the stress of "everyone needs to sign up for more hours" i'll be so glad when it's all over and done with. |

I work at a PBM. That’s pretty hard to explain. What is it that I do exactly? I’m not really sure myself.
What’s the point of a PBM? Why is it necessary? It’s very much behind-the-scenes kind of work. The general public typically isn’t very aware of the existence of these rich, powerful, nearly invisible companies. They just don’t play an active role in the daily life of many people. To many, I’m just the person at the other end of the phone. Faceless, but not entirely insignificant. In a very small way I help decide the fate of another human’s life. I will either approve coverage of their medications, or simply hand the request over to someone who may deny them. I make $15.50 an hour doing this. After work, I have just enough time to either go to the gym, or play free computer games and dissociate, wishing I was somewhere else, doing something else with my life. I think this company’s role is a superfluous one. I’m pretty sure society would get along just fine without these PBMs: These companies that would buy medications at a hugely discounted price from drug companies (thereby forcing them to raise the price over time to try to make up for the loss), sell those drugs to insurance companies and patients for a price 1000 times higher than the original cost, and for kicks, also force patients to use the PBM's own particular pharmacy to buy those medications. And, on top of that, they are contracted with insurance companies to judge whether a prescribed medication will be covered or not. Who benefits from PBMs? A single infusion with just one of these medications costs tens, sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some medications – millions. Where is all the money going? I work for a vampire. An overpowered monster in the shadows leaching the money and life out of people. Perhaps, sometimes, turning those people into sort of embittered, pessimistic little monsters themselves. Struggling with their own physical illness, and now also struggling to pay for the treatment, they lash out at the pharmacy dispensing the medication. Or sometimes they will lash out at me on the phone. Or perhaps they may even lash out at their own friends and family in frustration. I don’t have a very noble profession. I’m not high enough on the corporate food-chain to do jack squat about any of this though. Information flow is very restricted between different departments. Even my own supervisor is careful not to give the full picture about why we do or say things a certain way. Perhaps she doesn’t know herself. No single cog really knows what the other cogs are doing. The trade secret is so secret even the employees don’t really know what it is or how it all works. No one can afford to lose their job over it, so no one questions it too deeply. It’s all by design. And no one is allowed to speak with the grand architect. I once had a caller who demanded to speak to the president of the company. He yelled in my ear threatening hell and high water with lawsuits because what we were doing is disgraceful. For these “escalations,” as we call them, we are trained only to transfer the callers to our immediate superiors. In my case, it would be the clinicians, who won’t do jack except maybe transfer them to their supervisor, who will either take a number and never call back, or just transfer them to their superior who may or may not transfer them to a department of the company that specializes in silencing these types of callers forever. You can put up a fight if you want, but in the end you will be screwed over, and you will have wasted so much of your time just to get to that point.

My manager was kind of rude today. Also he was being a bit weird. He opened the door for me. I said good morning and he said good morning back in a rude way. Then I went to the break room to put my drink away. He followed a few feet behind. I went to check the new schedule. He opened the fridge. Looked in it and didn’t take anything out. Then gave me a dirty look and walked out. Since I’m not dealing with PMDD anymore I just dismissed it as “his problem” since I wasn’t doing anything wrong and my day went fine.

The boss become way too crazier. He put me on a big project again, with only two days deadline. Thankfully, I don't have other big project at this moment, unlike the last time when I had to tackle all three big projects along with the minor ones in two days.
The problem is, I still have to do some minor but urgent projects. He wanted me to prioritized this big project, BUT I also must finish those minor projects. This big one cannot be done in just two days and it's actually not urgent at all. But he insists that it must be done today. NAH. I will done that big project, but I refuse to rushed it. Like I've said, it's not urgent at all and if I don't meet the deadline, there's actually no damage or disadvantage to company at all. I don't care if they said that I'm lazy or slow or whatever. I'd better work on my pace rather that have my anxiety high and turned into a mad creature like him. |

Sorry to hear it turtle. My boss is going in the same direction. I swear she's losing it. My anxiety is really high just having to deal with her. Whatever I do is wrong, while there are no consequences for the cheaters. I sent her a message just to confirm I was doing something correctly, since it's been a while since I had to deal with a situation like that. Better to confirm, right? She bit my head off and treated me like I was stupid just for asking when the editor wasn't sure either.
Hugs. |

It wasn’t too bad today. I’ve been pretty sick though all week and I felt like I was going to throw up all day and my supervisor who I get along with really well kept telling me to just go home but I knew I could make it as long as I didn’t eat anything. They asked me to work tomorrow but were fine when I told them I wasn’t well enough to come in. Plus it was my day off anyways...

I can't even believe it.. today I got in trouble for doing nothing wrong. The truth is... I simply am not the most important player so I am going to have to take the fall. I don't know how I feel about it.. on the one hand, I completely expect it and I just don't care. On the other what is the point of working hard to do things right if things can just be laid at your feet because your the low person on the totem pole.
My boss sent me something, I defended myself (my boss is in trouble too) and he said, I agree but "shite rolles downhill" -- can take that any other way than I am at the bottom of the hill so I am getting it. Makes me annoyed and questioning if I can do this for another 10 years. |

Work wasn’t bad today. I was in a mood but it was because I’ve been feeling pretty sick lately. But no one gave me a hard time or anything. The only annoying part of today was my coworker left a big box of garbage by me all day and at one point I just kinda shoved it towards her since she kept pushing it at me. Why she didn’t take it out, I don’t know. I know other coworkers were also getting annoyed with it though.

Bad day at work. Same reason, they want to be prioritized.
First, this girl. I was working in an urgent project. My client (my coworker from another department) sat on my side to instruct me the changes. It was urgent, but minor one. This girl saw my situation, but she told me to send her a work file. I told her that I'd respond her after I'm done with this minor project, but she insisted again and again until the other coworker ordered her to stop. The last one was this supervisor. Similar situation, except both project were not urgent. He know that I have many projects. I told him that I'd do his new project later and he repeatedly insited me again and again to listen to him and his project. I was fed up so I accidentally snapped back at him. He replied with nasty comment, saying that he only just saying and didn't care if I do the project later (excuse me?). Oh, when will this stop? |

Today sucked and among other things I was getting zero help with the garbage once again. And a coworker working in the back was being rude and obnoxious every-time I brought it back. Towards the end of my shift the garbage was piled really high and I think the coworker I was working all day with expected me to take it back once again but I just said goodbye to my supervisor and left her to take it back herself. It was quite satisfying to give zero ****s as I left today.

Ugh.. today is Monday. Everyone hates Monday.
Aside of the crazy job, the coworker I'm troubled with finally come to work after her 3-months maternity leave. It was less chaos without her around. Now she's back and I have to prepare for the drama she'll make. Meanwhile, one of my coworkers (who I have good term with) in my division will take maternity leave soon, so we must cover her. Going to miss her. |

Yeah, Turtle Rider, for me the worst sound of the week is the Monday morning alarm.
I saw a job advertised at at winery near my house doing tours and relations with visitors that requires Portugues and English language skills, which I have. I was excited for a bit until I saw the salary/conditions. You'd get paid by they day worked with no benefits. Take home pay would be less than I make now and I'd have to pay health insurance and retirement contributions out of that. So, financially it wouldn't work. |

Work was difficult today. Probably the Monday blues. The weather was real crappy by me. As usual the garbage was an issue. I think though this coworker maybe isn’t able to take out the garbage because she has something physical going on. I don’t know though. I’m hoping my vacation will help me chill out at work.

3rd day In a row where work was tough. Most people were really nice and sympathetic though. Today was tough solely on how I was feeling physically and mentally. The funny thing is even though the day was bad it went by really fast. If this weeks schedule is correct and hasn’t been altered I won’t have to work with that supervisor until late next week.

We have these cash awards at work and they had the ceremony this week. Typically I don't go because every year the awards are given out to the people that... to me, do nothing, but I went and shock of shock... the awards were given out to the people who didn't deserve them.
On the one hand... we have a structure at work that is the top people, the middle people, and the bottom people. I am in the middle. Because I have the opportunity to interact with the top people basically I have some perks that the bottom people will never see. So I can see that the bottom people should get to have special treats for them too. However, it just really bothers me. As the middle men we rely on the bottom people to do their work right. But they don't. And the top people are constantly annoyed with the bottom people and we have to clean up after them. Because the bottom people don't get paid much no one will say anything and then they get awards? Grrr.. next year.. not going. |

Ugh. More coworkers resigned: My manager and a coworker I'm friended with (from another division). This means that I also have to cover my manager. I don't have many friends at work especially after one's drama, so it'll be more miserable without her around. H
Meanwhile, my boss wants me to improve my skills in video editing and 3D field. Seems nice isn't it, to know your boss want you to be better? Yes, until you learn that they did so becuse hiring outsource editor costs 3-4 times your salary. They want you to be better so they can pay you as low as possible. I honestly have these skills, though I admit I'm still a beginner. But I pretended that I can't because they don't pay me to be an editor. I'm still going to learn and improving my skills, but I refuse to use it here unless they give me more proper pay. I'm going to send my application tomorrow. Hope I can get a new job. |

It definitely sounds like they are looking for a way to make you do more work for the same pay and not hire someone else! Good luck with the job search, it sounds like you need to get out of there.

I came back from vacation and people were kinda crabby and everything was a mess and I asked my coworker why everyone was crabby and she said they had been like that for a couple of days. But then people calmed down and the day turned out fine. What’s annoying me though is a coworker has been out for 2 weeks supposedly for a close family’s death. She still hasn’t returned yet. She’s not returning calls or anything. She did text me on Sunday and ask if we got paid time and half on Monday. I asked the coworker I was working with today if she had heard from this other coworker and she said no. I told her she had contacted me about time and a half. I don’t care if I threw her under the bus she’s abandoning her job and not being honest with management. She’s posting all sorts of stuff on Facebook that makes it seems like she very well can be at work.

Despite not feeling good due to my sleep disorder work itself was not bad today. Although I don’t remember a lot of what went on. I did almost leave around 9:15 but I was able to work through my exhaustion. I didn’t say much of anything to anyone but they knew I wasn’t feeling good since one of the few things I did say was “does anyone have any tums?” But I mean at least I stayed my entire shift today.
