i've always been interested in the world of drugs.
everything about them amazes me.
it would probably sound bad if i said i L O V E D drugs, but i do.
i love how every drug has a different feeling, a different trip.
the effects is always so exciting to me, even if it's a bad trip.
i've done alot of different drugs. i don't like to say i'm addicted because i never crave or fiend for drugs. i just like the experiences.
drugs have helped me figure out who i am.
i know, i know. i hear it all the time.

THE DRUGS ARE JUST MAKING YOU THINK THAT, THEY CONTROL YOUR MIND!

it's all ********.
my friend kay had an epiphany from drugs, and she's going to go far with her life, even if she continues to do them.
she used to suffer from depression but ever since the drug trip that gave her that epiphany, she's back in school, studying what she is passionate about, and she's going to be very successful one day.
the drugs aren't controlling my life anymore, i go to school everyday now.
sure, drugs most of the time take control of peoples lives.
they've caused alot of damage on us humans.
they've made us steal from loved ones, threaten others, suffer and even murder to get them.
and sure, drugs haven't exactly helped my concentration skills because i used to abuse them.
but now, it's a whole different story..

Beg to differ, if you understand what these drugs were doing to your brain as well as your body, I doubt you would feel so enthusiastic about them.

It's sad, but it's true. Once I was smart, and active like you. Now I am ignorant, no memory, I'm blue. Very blue. Nothing seems worthwhile, and nothing seems new. And it's due ~ to my love of drugs, too.

Not necessarily addicted,

BillieJ

Can you find passion for something more productive, more based in reality?

I have been passionate about pot for many years, but I'm currently trying to quit.

Not to get all down on you Sleepless, but NuckingFutz and BillieJ are right.
Maybe right now it's fun. Maybe right now you don't see the downside. But trust me. You might not be addicted, but that doesn't mean you have a magical immunity to the harmful effects of drugs.

You don't have to be an addict for drugs to be bad for you. You don't have to overdose, you don't have to steal, or lie, or hurt those around you for drugs to be bad for YOU. Drugs are drugs...and speaking from experience, your memory will suffer, your moods will suffer, maybe not immediately, but they will...if you don't stop. I don't think the drugs told you who you were, I think people who say that don't quite understand. I do believe they guided you on a path to finding who you are. Taking a drug is a choice, a particularly big choice that forces us to learn who we are. However, do you want to be that person who relies on a drug, a false reality, for soul searching?

If you love the idea of an epiphany, and seeing a different world, why don't you try some intense meditation and soul searching? You can totally find the same things you find in drugs but based in reality as Junerain suggested. It will be so much more worthwhile and real!! You can do it!

Hello, sleepless0x. I take a look at your post and then a look at your profile and wonder if the two may be relabeled cause and effect?

Well, some people have good experiences... some people have terrible experiences with addiction and depression and mental issues the rest of their lives.

I say.. good for your friend, if that's what she did, that was her choice, not anybody else. If she continues to do her thing without drugs in the future, then hats off to her!

I'm not putting you down here.. basically what I am trying to say is.. 'to each his own'. Don't get to caught up in it though, or bad things may come your way.

I remember a time in my life when drugs offered epiphanies, and all oh sooo good feelings and fond memories. I also remember a time when I could use for a day or two and quit for months on end. Then I crossed an invisible line that I was unaware of and suddenly none of it was fun anymore.
Thanks for this!

thanks for all of your opinions.

i'm doing pretty good actually. i haven't been doing drugs lately.
i've even been turning down weed.

last saturday i made the mistake of taking too much MDMA at a rave, but i learned from that.. cutting down hasn't been too difficult on me(:

Sweetheart,
I just want you to know that drugs aren't what you think they are cracked up to be.
I'm only turning 20 next month and yet I've done let drugs ruin my relationship with my family. My friends used me to get drugs because i was getting them constantly.
I ended up in positions i shouldn't have been in. I've been drinking since I was ten.
Smoking Green since I was 16. And this past year and a half since i haven't been able to live at home i've lived with different friends and still ended up getting in situations because of alcohol and drugs. I'm broke. I have like maybe two people i can trust. I've tried almost everything you see on intervention. I mean its not great. Its sad. I can tell someone something and a week later forget i told them and tell them again. It really does mess you up. I almost Overdosed One time on a drug I wont mention but when you're on it you don't know that you are Overdosing and I looked up the symptoms and I had almost every symptom of Overdosing on it with the exception of one or two. Its not anything to be thrilled about. Some people have addicting personalities. I'm one of the fortunate ones who can pick it up and put it down just as fast. The problem is once you have done it so long its hard to just put it down. I choose to do it. But if someone hadn't ever introduced it to me I'd never have picked it up. I don't blame them though because I could have said No but then again thats my weakness is to tell people NO. The only problem is I've been able to walk away from every drug I've done except this last one. Its a battle.

SleeplessOx,
I get what you are saying. It is another world, or another perspective on the world that I really love. I wish I could just fly away sometimes. I have been smoking pot for several years but am currently cutting back, and am on my way to quitting for good, hopefully. I am starting to see that I use pot as a crutch to help me through the anxiety the day brings. But just like any medicine, I don't really want to be dependent on it, so I am going to take control of that and quit. I would like to be able to smoke only on occasion, or socially at parties, but I don't seem to be able to control it. So I have to buck up and admit that I need to quit.

I wish the world was a magical place where epiphanies come every hour and our senses are heightened. For some reason we must take drugs to feel high. I often wonder if there could be a world where people could do a drug for fun, and then put it away indefinately. Unfortunately it seems that addiction is the only name of the game. I really wish it were different, because I like the way I think when I am high. But it is not, and I must go on trying to quit because I know that it is best for me, my body, and my family.
