I just started taking seroquel xr and my dr told me it causes weight gain ok thats fine I just lost 20lbs and I go to the gym regularly. But I was drinking alot so I had to give that up when I started the new meds. I having so many cravings and I'm always hungry and tired. Sometimes I feel nauseated or my heart starts beating fast. I think that's anxiety but from drinking? I'm getting so confused I don't what to think, do, or eat.????

Yeah, it's not good to drink while taking seroquel. I take it too.

Coming off the alcohol gave me the same feelings as you. For me, getting sober seemed to turn my life upside down. It was really tough to manage being hungry, cravings...but, I did feel better after the alcohol worked ti's way out of my system.

I hope the best for you and that you can stay sober. For me, sobriety is much better than drinking.

Hi ~ You might try eating some chocolate. I know that sounds funny, but your body is probably craving sugar. You lose ALOT of sugar when you quit drinking - alcohol has LOTS of sugar in it, and now you're not getting it. The chocolate replaces it, and it also helps with cravings.

Drink Gatorade too - it has electrolytes that your missing. You should be drinking a lot of fluids. Not pop - Drink the gatorade, o r any of the drinks that are high in electrolytes.

Eat a well-balanced meal, and go heavy on the fresh fruits. You need plenty of vegetables too. Just use your head, and make sure meals are balanced.

I wish you the very best. When you've been off the alcohol for awhile, you'll wonder why you ever drank! I've had MUCH more fun sober than I ever did when I drank! God bless. Hugs, Lee

loki glad u're putting down the booze while on meds. it's the safer way to go. some of your symptoms sound like alcohol withdrawal. don't know how much you would consume, so just throwing it out there. sweets, especially orange juice will keep your sugar level elevated as the alcohol leaves your body. and yes any sweets right now will help you. eating a snack lowers the cravings for alcohol. gatorade has potassium in it plus sugar so it's good especially if you're somewhat dehydrated. this can happen, low potassium levels, when you work out too. it can also cause your heart to race as alcohol use can. the nausea is probably alcohol withdrawal too.
hope u're feeling back in shape real soon.
