My husband and father to 3 of my children lost his life to his methampetamine addiction - Please click the link below to read his story

My heart in telling his story is that if it can help even just one person - then he died not in vain.

Thank you for sharing Fleeting...I'm gonna try and keep this post near the top so everyone sees it. My sponsee called me; a guy in her complex od'd tonight....my sponsee has 7 days sober today, and said that she feels like the disease was thrown in her face tonight. I agree with you, that if at least one person learns something from these deaths, they are not in vain. Thank you again, and welcome to PsychCentral.

As it's been said, welcome to PC and I'm terribly sorry for your loss but as you said, if one person learns something from it, it's not in vain.

Meth has almost taken my life several times and the power of it's addiction is so strong that I still struggle on a daily basis not to use it again. I can't express enough how dangerous meth is and how quickly it gets ahold of you and destroys your life. Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope it helps at least one person. It opened my eyes a little more.

Drugs no matter what in what way will always kill wether it be physically right now or slowly as prgression. To label one drug as a killer is so goofy for there are many out there daily killing family or those who are not even connected. Think about it meth or any drug. They use to say marijiuana was the gate drug. yep what ever!!!!! a drug is a drug is a drug. Meth you can smell cooking out your back door if you want to. Any drug will kill meth may even kill your neighbor if the lab goes up in smoke.

Mlyn,

It is true "DRUGS" kill not just meth, but coke, crack, smack ... and the list goes on ... but the reason I focused on "meth" is because it is what killed my husband ... it is the specific drug that tore our family apart ... it is the drug that took 3 of my childrens father away ... and I titled it to catch the attention of those that use meth ... and bring a reality to the fact that it is very capable of killing you - my heart is to point the addict towards recovery.
