Hey, I'm kinda really annoyed at myself. I went to my first na meeting night before last and even though I went to the pub straight after the meeting I managed to stay fully sober yesterday. Today iv been trying so hard to do 2nd day but without even realising it I smoked a joint and bagged up some coke to take to a party later, whereas I had planned on taking a load of different soft drinks. I can't believe I didn't even notice what id done until afterwards, how can it be that natural to me without me even noticing.

It can. I remember when I first got sober, I came home from work, and before I knew it, I'd popped open a can of beer! Thank God I realized it before I took a DRINK!

It was at that point that I DUMPED OUT ALL THE BEER in the sink. I had NO business having any in the house in the first place.

Maybe that's what YOU should do, huh? Get rid of ALL the "stuff" you have. That's what I would do. I don't care what it cost you -- get rid of it.

Best of luck & God bless. Hugs, Lee

Are they aware of what you've been doing? If so, tell them to keep you from any of it. Tell them not to let you have any of it.

If they're NOT aware, either way you can get rid of the weed and coke! What do you need it for? GET RID OF IT!!! Open the bags, and dump it all in the garbage!!! LOL Just get rid of it!

PLUS -- why are you going to a party with "slippery people?" Those people will certainly make you relapse. You aren't supposed to hang around people like that. You're supposed to hang around SOBER people. You can't change your parents -- but you CAN change your friends. Hang around with program people, NA people. They know how to have fun too. I had more fun with AA people than I EVER had with drinking people. In fact, I learned how to ski in my 40's with AA people!!! Before long, I was flying down a mountain at top speed!! It was wonderful -- until spinal problems put a halt to that. But it was a blast! So stay with NA people, and away from slippery people!

And remember -- get rid of everything! Hugs, Lee

It was my little sisters party, none of them take coke or smoke. Coke I know I should get rid of, I already got rid of my weed, it was my dads I was smoking yesterday.

hey thanks for your comments, i know im a bit late replying, took me quiet a while to surrender to the program fully but i know have a great sponsor and have started working the steps, i picked up my 30 day keyring this week, and even though it took me a while to string together more than a week at a time, im starting to really love my recovery and put it in front of stuff thats not always as important. 30 days is more than i ever thought i could be clean and sober for and i am grateful to everyone that helped me get this far and pray that i can continue this way.

Good for you!!!! I am very concerned that your parents are using and drinking. How old are you? If you can, you might want to consider moving out of their house. That's child abuse in my book, but that's just my opinion. Your getting sober is likely to cause lots of trouble at home. Be sure that your sponsor knows what is going on there.
