for the last several yrs., ii've taken alot of firocet to boost my confidence to be around others. this is the only way i feel comfortable in social settings. whenever i get invited to "social settings" i immediatley start thinking about how i can get some firocet to be able to have a good time. i'm scared that others won't accept me. i've missed out on sooo much in my life because i dont feel like others think i'm "good enough" to be around them. i don't want to feel rejected. i want to stop. my kids are very upset by my actions. i just need to figue out how to be "myself" and stop wondering if people will like the REAL me.

NEEDING to be ACCEPTED is a STRONG FORCE that LIVES with in US ALL and it some times makes us do strange things in order to be wanted by others....
I feel that if we were not allowed to the be the ME that we were born to be then it becomes a harder task to endure as we mature..... we find (some times to late) that we have been so busy being who we think other people want us to be that we loose sight of the real ME in the process.

As I'm sure you know, Fioricet can cause mental and physical dependency. I'd practice being around known friends as "myself" -- maybe even throw my own little party and also get a therapist to talk to about this problem. Drugs don't change who you are at all, just your own perceptions (not the perceptions of the people around you, if you're the one taking them :-) so I'd remember that too, that what I'm hoping to accomplish isn't being accomplished. It's a little like lying to yourself; if you know it's a lie, it doesn't really work.
