im on .5mg xanax
if im taking 3-10 pills day doesnt mean im addicted or an addict right? or does it?

Please be very careful with this med. it can mean you are n addict or are on your way to becoming one if you are taking more than prescribed and abusing the drug. I started doing that and it slowly caught up with me. Getting off of it is a bear. Talk to your Dr about your usage and be very honest.

Well honestly I've never seen a script for more then 3x a day but hey I will be the first to admit I'm no doc or expert. I do know that Xanax has a higher potential for dependency because it doesn't last as long as other benzos. It fast acting and wears off faster making it faster to build up a tolerance and addiction for it. You may want to discuss switching to klonopin with your doc because klons last longer and building a tolerance for them takes longer. But my guess is if your taking that many xanax per day, your doc will want to weed you off benzos. Xanax is much easier to get addicted to because they wear off so fast.

it says take 2 per day.
thas why i kinda liked xanax is because it wore off faster. i didnt like klonopin because it would make me lethargic all day. i take it as needed though. but started taking it when i was bored so i could sleep away the boredom.

Xanax and benxos build up in the system very fast meaning most get a high tolerance quickly. My pdoc said xanax has the highest rate of addiction. She put me on valium (or klonopin is a choice). That being said, I started on .5 mg and a after about 6 yrs later I was getting a script for 5 mg of valium bc my tolerance was higher. The problem with taking more than is prescribed is that when you really need them they usually will not work.
