You don't have to drink today agony....I've been sober almost 2 years now, but I've only done it a day at a time. There are a lot of ways that people have recovered, so find what works for you. I go to AA, but that's just what works for me. Try a meeting if you want, or find another way, but you CAN GET SOBER AND STAY SOBER. If you really want to. It's a decision. You can get sober regardless of anyone, anything, any medication. Just don't try and do it completely alone. Hang in there, and don't pick up the first drink.

Hey I am the mom of a 7year old and I too am an alcoholic and drug addict. 17 years ago, yesterday I made the decision to not use drugs or drink until midnight. I have done that one day at a time since then and I too, go to AA. Go to a meeting and get a desire chip and do whatever they tell you to do. I am here if you need any help at all. You can PM me and ask me anything you like. Just don't drink until midnight tonight. Lots of love....

Absolutly, all recoverers swear by the "one day at a time" for a reason, as an addict it is crucial we focus on that moment, then the next when it comes. You have two perfect reasons to get through it, you can do it...don't worry about tomorrow and forget yesterday, focus wholly on now.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and your support. yesterday i learned my lesson. i passed out because i drank while on my meds. i could't remember anything, not even how i got to the bed. it was really scary. apparently my husbad got home before i passed out. he thinks it was caused by my meds. i am going to tell him the truth today. i am going to tell him of my recent problem with alcohol. it is best to be honest. i am going to seek some help outside as well.
