I'm 19 and I started drinking at the age of 16. At the time it was just a social thing. And then it continued to seeking out social situations that would allow me to drink. Then I started drinking just to drink. The entire time telling myself that it was just to 'reward' myself. I would tell myself, "Everyone needs a break, right?" I'm now to the point of binge drinking everyday and smoking weed to offset the effects of a hang over. I also experiment a lot with pills. I'm not addicted to any specific pill, but I want to do anything fun I can get my hands on. I do research about them beforehand, but still. I mix them with things which is very dangerous. I'm on 4 psychotropic medications that you are NOT supposed to mix with alcohol. I feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette with my life and I don't even know where to start to get help. Rehab/Outpatient/hospitalization is not an option for me.

List of drugs taken (for non medical purposes): Molly, Alcohol, Cigarettes, Adderall, Vyvanse, Xanex, DXM, Pot, Pot laced with cocaine, Klonopin, Vicodin, Ambien.

A very dangerous road you are going down. Not because of the mixing of drugs and alcohol but because of addiction. I would say get help and get help now while you are still young. I started the same way at 14 and didn't stop until I was 32. You should nip this thing in the bud now.

Why Not???

If you can't do it on your own there are free support groups out there.

Do you not believe that those options work or are there other reasons that you believe that rehab etc. are not options for you? You have to remember that you might have gotten yourself into this mess, but there are a larger number of people who struggle with recovering from addiction without help.

My suggestion is to consider going to AA/NA. I was a mess. Bonefide alcoholic. Been sober for over 25 years now. AA helped me get sober and stay sober. Plus meetings are free! Just read your drug list. Sounds like you're in way over your head. Believe it. Drugs and alcohol kill.

Why is Rehab/Outpatient or Inpatient treatment not an option for you? Don't you realize that it is your ONLY option? Well, it is, dear. Just think about it and research it. It's your only chance for a normal life - if you want one. Sorry if this shocks you, but it's the truth. I wish you the best.

Everything has solutions. Avoid the things that it would make it worse before you regret it. You have many options, you just need the guts to take them.

I have to agree with you, PrairieCat. That is what I thought. There is nothing more important in your life then, well, your life. So Rehab/Outpatient or even Inpatient is actually a very small 'price' (I say it like that, because I am not sure if cost is an issue) to pay.

If cost of treatment is an issue there is always AA and NA which are free. Other groups too but they are not as prevalent.
