I'm very grateful to say that I am 60 days clean and sober today! It's been an amazing 60 as many miracles have been worked for me! I've been diagnosed with 2 other mental illnesses that help me to understand why I've felt broken or abnormal since I was very young! I also have let go of quite a bit of trauma from my past that has help me prisoner for far too long. I no longer feel the need to use or drink now that my moods are balanced and my ADHD is being treated. Surprising how 3 little meds can change my life not to mention the amazing trauma therapy I've undergone and plan to continue. Thank you to Psyche Central for including a forum for the addict, alcoholic, or person in recovery!
Hugs from:

Thanks for this!

Well that's an amazing thing you did for yourself and your friend! I wish you both all the best! For me, the clean and sober life is much brighter and less painful! I hope the two of you grown to know the peace of it!

You've achieved a really GREAT thing, 60 days is a long long time when for some of it I know you were climbing the walls (usually the beginning). It's actually YOU who's done all this, YOU and not the meds, they do help but only as part of the whole scene. Many of us turn to different substances because we ''hurt'' and that's usually at a very early age. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you round here in future! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Thank u so much for that waggiedog! That made me feel really good! Yes it was tough in the beginning but as time wears on I become less and less inclined to use any substances other than my prescribed medication. As long as I take care of my physical and mental healtg I finally feel great every day just as I am! Being comfortable in my own skin is a brand new experience for me..one that I like very very much! I plan to be around this area of the sight in particular because I can share my experience and hope but also because there is always something to learn from every person fighting this disease. Thank you again and I'll be seeing u around!
