I've been Sober since September 12, 2015 except for one slip up. I am so happy to be sober and to finally be facing my demons, trying to heal, and learning to love myself again. Recovery is beautiful. Difficult but oh so beautiful.<3

Benzos will always be my achilles heel. I had the longest, most toxic relationship with xanax. I am happy that I kicked that ****** to the curb. Lol. Good luck to you in your recovery from benzos.

Thanks Bill,

Well right now I'm throwing the big guns at it. I'm in an IOP rehab program, and I'm taking Antabuse. But for fighting cravings, I find it most helpful to remember how bad it got in my last relapse and how I never want to be that sick again. I also have a bunch of good distractions like writing, and knitting that help me, because I can't do them well and drink at the same time.

I haven't stopped anything but have cut way back on my drinking thanks to Naltrexone. Still smoking cigars. Doing better with overeating or food addiction but surely I can't quit eating! lol

Thanks Bill3.

What I'm doing? I'm continuing to take Antabuse. I'm actively working the WFS program., But probably the most helpful thing is remembering how sick I was with my last relapse, and how I never want to go there again.

I got sober after a very bad relapse, when i woke up after 24 hours of constant puking, with the realization that I wanted to live, and that if I kept drinking the way I was drinking, I'd wind up dead sooner rather than later.

Fighting to finish up day 14 dry from the sauce. It's taken away half my life so far. Every problem I've had since the age of 14 really has been from drinking

I lose everything when i flip back to drinking. I make it a few months and convince myself i'm good, a few beers. That turns into a few days, and now tequila and 25 beers a day ensues

I use an app called NoMo to track my time sober. It has a nice feature that keeps a running total on amount of $ saved. Huge for me as i'm money motivated

Today is day 4 for me to be clear of benzos and opiates in my body. It will be great to let my mind catch up to that feeling, it's hard, everyday I have had to fight so hard not to use. God give me strength.

Keep up the good work Tams, you're in the hardest part right now - but if you stay off the drugs it does get easier. Cheering for you.

I'm doing ok, no desires to drink lately.
