Hard is not relative; hard is hard.
Societal norms tend to make us rank addictions in regards to how hard they are to break, but maybe we should just commiserate in the fact that all addictions are hard. |

Xanax... Like all benzos can kill you when you stop. But xanax is only in your system about 6 hours, so you can have hell on earth withdrawals in between doses.

Although I never had a problem with drugs, I used to smoke marijuana when I was younger.
Nowadays, I say no to any drug. I just drink the legal one in moderation with friends, that's all. I don't like getting drunk. I have tried smoking but I don't like it either. I find the psychedelic ones like mushrooms or peyote really interesting, but I don't think I'd try. I really appreciate my mental stability right now and would like to keep it forever.

And what is hard for one person may not be hard for another... Addiction really isn't about the substance. Easier to talk about how horrible the drug is than how we just couldn't cope with life without the drug...

The one a person is active in.

I have been addicted, in no particular order, to heroin, crack, cloneazepam, methadone, ciggies,, and alcohol.
Whichever one you are trying to quit at that moment is the hardest. Methadone took a long time to stop feeling bad, and the benzos were a close second. Heroin was a straight up nightmare. |
