hey

I have recently been self medicating, I don't wanna say its because I have been off medication, more because of stress during a relationship.

part of my problem is not being on medication and the other part is the stress.

I have been commited to exercising for the past 12 years

I been off medication for months and was doing great until I got into a new relationship that was very stressful, but I could have dealt with the relationship a lot better if I was on psychiatric medication

I see my psychiatrist tomorrow (march 3rd) and march 2nd, today is my first day I complelted being sober.

I have never been a full blown drug addict or alcoholic, recentely I have come close tho.

so my game plan is to stay sober, from all forms of drugs or alcohol

and get back on psych meds, the kind that are not sedating.

Welcome Geneticallyblessed, and congratulations on your decision to become sober. It can be hard work at times, but it's well worth it.

Good luck with finding psych meds that work for you.

I hope you stick to your plan! We're all rooting for you. I'm in the exact same position you're in right now except my stress is due to finances...or lack thereof. Lost my job two wks ago because my MI is out of hand and even though I'm taking my meds, they aren't working. Imagine how I'm handling that one? Many of us here have self medicated one time another. It's a horrible cycle. Wish you the best of luck and do whatever you need to stay clean. Rehab, groups, therapy ect.

thanks

i got on psych medication on march 3rd.

i have had one relapse on alcohol since then

but am getting back on track

getting back into gym to finish my weightloss

and i found motivation to get a part time job in the future.... there is a martial arts center in my town and a boxing center in the next town over... so i plan on getting a part time job to afford those two to keep busy

exersicing keeps me inline and focused and sober

my finances are bad too that's another thing stressing me out.
