I didn't touch a drink from 1999 to 2004 due to religious reasons...now I'm to the put of screw it...

Why not have some rum to take away the sting of the day away...

Hi Direction,

Sorry you feel that way Alcohol I use to say that too because I thought I always felt better drunk. Then I realized I felt better at the moment and then felt worse after. The alcohol just covered all my problems and I wasn't able to deal with them until I got sober.

I still have moments when the thought of a drink crosses my mind, but it passes quickly. I can now feel what I need to feel even if it's uncomfortable for a bit. I also can remember everything I do which is different.

Direction, I know how you feel hon. But I can say with the utmost certainty, it is not the way to go.

There are a number of different reasons that I'm sure you are aware of.

1. Alcohol and meds do not mix well
2. You are taking on a health risk in many ways by self medicating with alcohol.
3. Alcohol is a depressant.
4. When faced with your issues, why put yourself in a position of making more damaging decisions while impaired by alcohol? Life is difficult enough without adding to it!
5. We care about you here and don't want to see you making a mistake that you will regret.

Life is about choices, no matter what our issues are. We have the power to make the right choice or the wrong choice. I'm pretty sure if someone else had posted what you posted, you would be telling them the same thing I'm telling you. Please turn some of that logical, good thinking on yourself and be kind to yourself. You so deserve it!

Hugssssss

Well I guess I blew it...drunk...drunk...drunk...was last night...stumbled to the bathroom to throw up...

couldn't stand back up and fell...finding my self on the ground using the cat box as a pillow...not sure how many hours I was out...I bent my glasses and have a scrape above my right eye and a scrape on my knee...

No it didn't solve any problems...so no lectures please

I simply didn't care...

(((((((Direction))))))))))

When your ready to admit that you are powerless over alcohol, there will be help for you, you will care, and you will get better.

I'm sending you positive thoughts.

I'm not powerless over alcohol...it is not my problem...I'm powerless over the ups and downs of my screwed up life...I simply used it last night to avoid making a permanent solution...

Thanks for reminding me that alcohol still leads to passing out in the bathroom. If I thought it still might be fun, I might try it one day, but reading this makes me sure I won't try it again today.

Gatoraide and gingerale mixed always helped my hangovers when I couldn't have another drink right away. And plenty of water and some aspirin.
