Last week I went to 3 one year medallions in a row. They were all really inspiring. They were all for men who at this time last year were living in a half-way house and were one step away from the streets. Now they're all sober, have jobs, and are getting more stable housing. It's truly been amazing to see the transformation. Makes me think I can do it too.

"To watch people recover, to see them helping others, to watch lonliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends - this is an experience you must not miss. We know you will not want to miss it. Frequent contact with newcomers and with each other is the bright spot of our lives." ----Alcoholics Anonymous pg. 89

I love that paragraph and it popped into my head after I read your post. Isn't it wonderful to see others' progress??? Its often so much easier to see it in others than in ourselves. Yesterday I saw a one year medallion for a friend of mine who struggled for years.....and never made 11 months. After his last relapse, a friend of ours found him in a hotel room drunk with a loaded gun. And yesterday he finally got a year.....WOW. Thank you for sharing about the ones you saw!!!!

Its a joy to watch you grow Split.....keep up the good work!

Yes - anniversary meetings are always the best! Especially one year anniversaries - the person has that glow that is just so special and different when it's their first year.

What a wonderful post!

(((((((((((((((((((((SplitImage))))))))))))))))))) You can do anything you put your mind to doing. You have what it takes, you have the support that it takes and you have that higher power to lean on when you need to.

It's great to hear about those 3 men who have made not only a difference in their own lives, but in every life they touch.
