It's been 3 weeks ago since I had the last xanax and 6/7 weeks ago since the last amphetamine, after taking it for 8 months daily.
I don't really need the money, I'm still low on energy and still get anxious a bit quickly, although much less than while tapering xanax obviously. Would it already be time to find a new job or should I wait a little longer? I'm afraid to feel quiet stressed, as I'm still much more susceptible to stress than a year ago. |

I can't speak to this from the perspective of the medications you were taking. I don't know all that much about them myself. (I've taken a few in the past. But not anymore.)
![]() ![]() You wrote that you don't really need the money. And you mentioned you'd be looking for a new job, not returning to a current one. That's important because looking for work can be a tiring, mentally draining process. ![]() ![]() On the other hand, getting out & looking for a new job can be anxiety provoking in-&-of-itself. It's one of those things that's easy to put off... sort-of like going to the dentist! ![]() ![]() ![]() The fact that you don't really need the money at the moment is helpful. It gives you a cushion. One possibility, if such is available to you where you live, might be to start out by doing some volunteer work... maybe just a few hours per week. It would get you out-&-about, doing things in public, & meeting new people. Some of those people may end up knowing of new job openings you could apply for even before they get listed on-line, in the newspaper, etc. It's much easier to slide into a job on that basis than it is to try to compete successfully against everyone else who's looking & who saw the same job listing you saw. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks. I appreciate that.
I think I should probably take a job that's a bit below my level then, so I don't worry too much about performing and don't put too much pressure on myself. It'd be good to spend some months with structure and socializing. |
