Everyone has there own poison downandlonely , or the majority of people anyway . Be that drinking , smoking , amphetamines, barbiturates, coffee , etc etc . Some are worse than others I guess , but they all follow a similar pattern . After a while you consume them to stop your brain complaining to you that you haven't consumed them yet . A portion of your brain is always trying to convince you that it would be a good idea to have (insert your own poison here ) . Once you do , you feel better because your brain leaves you alone for a while ... but then soon enough it will begin again . You have feelings and thought that if you stopped ( enter your poison again ) you won't be the same person , you won't be happy , you will feel loss .
Or at least that's my perspective from my several years of formal education at the bush primary school 😀

It was a drinking day for sure.
2 truly drinks at home after work before the concert then after the concert (it was a new orleans band, big jazz traditional jazz)We enjoyed the concert very much. went back to our friends house to visit
and I drank 5 shots of gin....double martinis. I really like gin...he had these great olives stuffed with almonds and red peppers. came home around 11:30, but got to bed after 1am.
Stayed in bed until 10am this morning, slightly hung over. onto my second cup of coffee.
weight was 178.4 so no change there...good!

I forgot to tell you, because I worked late, jeff cooked the last meal from green chef. It was labor intensive.
Chicken tenders with butternut squash and tomatoes, red onions and garlic and pesto rosemary/garlic herb blend. balsamic vinegar with dijon mustard topped with feta cheese.
It was delicious!
The best meal we have had. Bizi's thread:

I need to get into the shower. We will go to chris's po boys for our traditional gumbo for lunch. I work this afternoon out of town for a husband and wife in a little town called Iota.
It takes me an hour to get there. Jeff is going to the foot ball game this afternoon with his colleagues from school. They are all in the music department and get to walk in with the band. They love being able to do this. Not sure what I am going to do. I will probably do some more research for our trip. Looking at metro maps is confusing.
Have a great weekend yall!

I always check in with the family before going out of town to provide foot care to this husband and wife. I tried to call their daughter with no answer so I called the house. The caregiver there told me that their son died on thursday. He was 64 years old and had downs. And had an anyerism that burst. They took him to the hospital and he died peacefully.

Every body loved timmy. He was an alter boy at his church every other saturday for decades. He loved to color and give/get hugs.

I called their daughter again and left a message to call me.
She called me back and cried telling me the story.
She told me that her mother was agitated(Alzheimer patient) and her dad was crying off and on. So they are grieving. We rescheduled the appointment for next month. my heart breaks for this lovely family.Bizi's thread:

Jeff just left for his cook out and going to the foot ball game.
I am still wondering what I am going to do. My friends are all busy with their families. I think I will do some reading up on our trip and maybe try to figure out maps etc. Later I will get dinner somewhere. I am thinking about getting my nails done for the trip. I have one thumb nail broken all of the way down to the quick so it looks funny. all of the rest of my nails need to be shortened but they look pretty this length. I will see if they can dip them in the acrylic the make them strong, my other thumb nail in cracked all the way into the quick and catches on things.and looks terrible. Maybe they can fix that one too. Think I will go do that now.Bizi's thread:

Spent the whole afternoon at a nail salon.
Got a manicure and pedicure.
They fixed up a torn nail and made me a new one. then a tip for my thumb nail that was completely torn off.
I had gel polish put on them they look so good, clear polish on my fingernails.
The toe nails are a color that I brought along, a dusty rose color, and they turned out great!
It was a husband and wife team. He spoke great english, she not so much.
They are Vietnamese and go to a church out of town, about an hour away. All of their friends go to this church so they see them weekly.
We talked shop a bit. I was there a long time.

Ate at chipotle for dinner, choriso bowl (onions and peppers, tomatoes and sour cream and cheese) that I brought home and heated up because they are always cold when I eat there.
I am having drinks but nothing like last night.

Brushed teeth with electric brush for 2 minutes, flossed teeth,

used purple listerine mouth wash for one minute.
Taking better care of my teeth, priceless.

It's really good that you're planning ahead for your trip. When do you leave, again?

Jeff woke me up around 8:30 but I went back to sleep.
Finally got up at 9:45am.
It felt good to sleep in but then I was achy from being in bed too long.have arthritis and
feel achy when I first get up, including my feet.
Need to get going....missed my 10am appointment that I can easily see later. so that is good,
a dementia patient who doesn't know me. So I did not have to call or anything else for that matter.
Now to just get going and dressed and lunch before my 1pm appointment.
I have 2 new clients today both will pre soak as their nails are long.
2nd cup of coffee and still in jammies.
3 days until we leave!
need to finish packing....
my older sister gave me a new travel bag as an early birthday present.
It is huge! I can put way more into it than my other one.
It is almost too big! I guess I don't have to fill it up.
It is a vera bradly one. and blue and white.
I look forward to being alcohol free this week!
Too much this weekend.....sigh
have a great day!

some one said I could put souvenirs in the bag?
I want to be able to comfortably put it under my seat,

have access to it easily: book, food, water, neck pillow etc.
I doubt that I will be able to sleep, hubby is such a light sleeper.

I cooked a good meal tonight in the crock pot.
curry pork and chick peas malsala(an indian sauce), roasted corn, multi colored peppers and (spinach and tomatoes added last before serving.)

When I tasted it , was really bland so I doctored it up a bit,

spices and yellow curry and spicy seasoning and salt!!!!
It tasted so much better! hubby liked it.
I think I could make it again...I think.
I have a couple of calls to make and do some laundry,

scrubs for tomorrow.
So I better sign off.
AF tonight, thank goodness!
bizi
I am thinking about not drinking in paris and then drinking in prague.
I just announced to hubby that I was not drinking in paris because I don't like wine. his response was " you could drink mixed drinks"

sigh

This might sound weird but I think I will put my old carry one bag in my new bag so I can store the big bag over head and take out the small one so that it will fit nicely under my seat. have snacks, water, book, wet ones for refreshing and my pill box so it remains flat...don't want it opening up and spilling every thing out...it is in a plastic bag too.
Yesterday I went to the walk in clinic to get some ambien for the flight. Got enough for jeff and I picked up just 4 pills. I wanted something to take for the long flights. Jeff said he was not going to take that. Oh well I have more for later if I need them.
10mg of ambien. I have taken them before and done scary things but that was drinking alcohol and not going to bed. stupid!

my left foot is mysteriously hurting, along the pinky toe but on my foot not toe. It was hurting for days and I sure that I had broken it. Was going to go to the walk in clinic and have it exrayed but the pain went away yesterday so I never mentioned it while I was there. today it is painful again.
sigh
jeff said "great so much for our walking".
need to get ready for work. Had meant to get up early to take a shower...did not happen so I will make my hair work out.
(it will be a bad hair day).

Had lunch with friends yesterday so that was fun.

Need to get going have to get my morning ritual done before first client, I will call them and tell them that I will be late....like usual. I don't want to get done at 11 to go to lunch...rather see them at 10:30 so that way I am done at 11:30. and have a good hour for lunch before my client at 1pm.
Anyway.

Have a great day!

Under the gun, yesterday, jeff decided to teach a lesson this morning. While we have computer issues. He decided to update a driver(what ever that is) so now our printer doesn't work so he can't print off all of his notes for the trip. We should call the uber driver to take us to the hotel about an hour after he gets back. I am all packed just took a much needed shower and am ready to go.
I can't believe he did this to the computer and scheduled a lesson for this morning. sigh
Now we will have to rush.
It is his birthday today and I bought him a tombstone that he liked from target. It is big and heavy and hidden in the back seat of my car.
The jacket that I was going to wear did not fit so I will wear a big fluffy one.

sigh

I put on my pressure stockings they feel good on my legs.
Need to change shirts because it is a 50/50 poly cotton and with my cardigan sweater I feel hot.
Need to put on a 100% cotton one one.

Done....ah feels much better.
I am wearing bright purple running shoes, and my travel pants so I am as comfy as I can be for this leg of the journey.
lafayette, atlanta, paris 3 nights paris to prague 3 nights, dusseldorf then atlanta then home, That is a lot of traveling for a one week trip. And you have to factor in being at the airport 2-3 hours a head of time before your flights. since the computer printer doesn't work we can't print off boarding passes so we will have to check in at the airport.Bizi's thread:
No notes, no boarding passes.

Not a great way to start our vacation.
heavy sigh.....
On to my second cup of coffee. We have a 3 hour layover in atlanta. so that is good if we miss our flight here.
I am anxious to say the least, afraid to take any thing.Bizi's thread:

We had a wonderful trip. Walked a lot.

Saw many things we had not seen before.
Ate good food and drank good beer.
Coming home was a drag.

Between language barriers, cancelled flights and long lay overs(5 in atlanta), and running to catch a flight, it took us 24 hours to get home.
Got home using uber which was a great ride....went to sleep at midnight.
Got up this morning at 9;30 feel all caught up...Am getting ready to see some clients this after noon, before that will go to sandras for lunch with jeff as he is off for fall break.
Will try to post some pictures.
The Klimt exhibition in Paris was fabulous!!!!!!

We loved the d'orsay museum.
I am sure it has changed some but then again we stayed mostly in tourist areas. took the easy to use subway in paris, walked everywhere in progue.

Hubby is installing the new toilet paper holder...mine broke.
It is an elaborate system. I hear pounding and drilling.
I took off the old one and it was very difficult to do by hand.
But I did it.
I did my continuing education courses on line for my RN license.
I have to do 10 hours of course work every year.
And I am doing laundry from our trip. I had a shirt that has billowing sleeves that some how got dirty. So I used special cleaners to get the stains out. Not sure if it did or not. We'll see.
