I took a shower today!!!!!
off I go to lunch then my one client for the day!
looking for something to do beside go to whole foods bar for trivia.

I treated myself to a pedicure and a 90 minute facial at aveda beauty school.
They were both very good and exactly what I needed.
Am going to trivia tonight but later and eat dinner but not drink.
I can do this!
Called a friend to see if she would want to go to the gym and walk on the tred mill with me on sunday.
She will call me on sunday.
I have been ABS a week so far.

I went to whole foods late for trivia, I really don't play I just sit there and drink...
this time I played a bit and drank water after eating a double stack burger with pepper jack cheese and caramelized onions, mushrooms and bacon! Ate it with spicy brown mustard and with a fork and knife because I did not have the bun.
AM trying this low carb diet thing. I just have to lose some of this weight that I have gained.
I work tomorrow out of town so have to get up early on a saturday....
I will be clear headed.
Hubby and I are about to watch LOST.
Love that show.

I had 2 things happen to me that were not pleasant.
at one oclock I went to a new clients house in an awful part of town and was told by a nurse who was just leaving that the house was infested with cock roaches. I thought well I can deal with that.
well no I could not I was all buggy and such there were little baby ones on the floor and bigger ones on the bath room sink then I was worried about them getting into my bag that was on the floor so I kept an eye on it.the sitter who was there seemed to be uneffected by the bugs.
I did a pedicure but that was the fastest one I have ever done. She paid me and I left. I call it hazardous pay. I will never go back there. I told this story to my friend and we decided that I need to report this to the adult protection agency. This is elderly abuse. So I will do that on monday.

When I got home from my lovely afternoon at the beauty school hubby had brought in the mail and left it on the counter. I riffled thru it and saw there was a notice from the post office that they had tried to deliver a certified letter to me but was unable.
I am trying to not freak out about this.
Like why is some one sending me a certified letter????????
I am always afraid that I might get reported to the board of nurses for what I do. There was a case last month that really got to me. I really should not have done her. I definitely went beyond my scope of practice with out doctor orders.

So I am really worried about that.
I signed the note and put it back into the mail box marking the note to redeliver and leave at the door. They may not beable to do that if they need a signature.

Just what I don't need.
Of course I am worried and think of the worst case scenario....
Jeff says to not worry about it until we get it.
That is easy for him to say.

Her daughter managers her affairs and sees to it that she has 24/7 around the clock to stay with her. So I think the daughter should do something about the house. I don't know whose house it is. APS can sort that out. Somebody needs to do something. I feel as a nurse it is my duty to report this situation.

Tomorrow could be a very busy day. up early to go to breakfast then church then social/pot luck(maybe not do this). Hubby is going to a friends house prior to the super bowl party starting at 5.
I may go to the gym with a girl friend to walk on the tred mill, if she is up to it...(my gut feels that she will not want to do that.)
So depending upon if I go to the gym will depend upon when I go to the super bowl party. Maybe I will go with jeff to his friends house, his girlfriend is there from hong kong. So this is why women are allowed to the super bowl party this year. Usually it is just guys.

Abstaining from alcohol (abs) is on the plan. Bringing sparkling waters and zevia is also on plan. Along with the sweetener stevia to sweeten just plain water. I will run to the store today to pick up these things.
WE will have left over chili for dinner.
What to do with the rest of my day. It is very warm and sunny today.
70 degrees. I have laundry to do today and filing that needs to be done soon....

That situation with the cockroaches sounds truly horrible. I'd definitely report it, as that's not sanitary. I had to deal with a roach infestation a few months ago - they were a problem throughout the whole building, so I had to have an exterminator come in 6 times to get rid of the problem. Frustrating but so worth it.

Think I forgot to tell you that we are doing a meal service a gain. We have used this company before. They are really expensive but our mother in law gave us $100 for christmas the box comes wednesday.
The food sounds delicious and the next week sounds even better.
It was $85 for 6 meals. But the produce is all organic and such.
that leaves us $15....

My credit card had fraudulent charges on it.
an eye lid cream for $92 and 2 other charges from same company.
Capital one reached out to me and canceled the $92 one and will refund me the other 2 charges. They canceled my credit card and are sending me a new one...it should be here by wednesday.
I am lost with out it.

I took the car in to have the air conditioner inspected to diagnose why it lost freon. We will pick it up before breakfast this morning. They open at 9am. I need to get going.

so I will have to jump over hoops to get out of this subpoena.

I spent the day calling dr's offices, people getting info, left messages return calls. sigh am exhausted.
I did see 3 people this afternoon and 4 tomorrow.This is difficult and frustrating. I think the lawyer will work for me. he is going to call me tomorrow to discuss the matter.

I need an extension for the time frame work of all of the paper work that is due.

WE made a meal kit tonight from sun basket. It was very good.

I think that I will work on it sunday. Tomorrow, I am working seeing 5 clients to get caught up from this weeks disturbances.
I will start by using word documents on line it is a program to help you type up stuff.
The extension went thru so that is good, buys us 2 weeks to gather what we need and for me to write up a good statement jeff will help me as I am not a good writer.

I have to start thinking this way.
As It is a real possibility that I will lose my license.

I am not freaking out about it.
I will change my website and my business cards and brochures and take the wording off of my car. create a new web site...it is doable.

It was in a private home and hospice was the provider. Both the home health nurse and nurse practitioner knew of the problem expected me to treat it and
it was the grandson who called me. I don't know who gave him my number.
I should not have done what I did, and I did not have orders to do it and it was beyond my scope of practice.
It is pretty clear cut.
I sent my statement to my lawyer and will see what he says.

I have been calling and getting md verbal orders(some have refused) which makes me mad and one reason that I quit getting orders because I was having so many problems getting them.
And now need to figure out if my fax machine is working because I need to fax over ordersz for them to sign so they can fax me back.
I need to make a flo chart ledger to keep track of things.

This will be my frustrating life from here on out. The state board of nurses now found out about my business which they did not know of and will have to jump thru hoops now from now on.

Went out and bought a 10 column ledger book to help keep track of everything. It is not perfect but will do.
I have a lot of clients at least 150. So that is a lot of keeping track of...I am only doing a few days in advance of my visits....can't handle much more than that.
Put a call into a gal that has done some work for me before. She is a quick learner. She is the daughter of a friend of mine. She is finishing up her college this semester. I just need her to help fax orders to MD's.
Tried to fax some today and had a hard time doing that.
Don't understand my new fax machine. sigh
I am so tech. challenged.
Have been drinking nightly to help deal with stress.
IT is not a great coping mechanism but it is what it is.

I'm sorry you're having to go through so many new hoops with your practice. I'm sure you'll get a system figured out eventually. Hiring your daughter's friend part time sounds like a good idea.

Rather than trying to keep track of things manually you might want to try to get help setting up a database of clients to track orders electronically.

I'm sorry you're drinking. I totally understand it, but it won't help things in the long run.

I hope you all had a nice valentines day!!!!
WE had a very nice valentines day dinner out at ZEAS restaurant.
I had the thai ribs and corn grits and tomato basil soup which was wonderful...they no longer carry the brousel sprouts. Very sad about that... We split an order of tiny crab cakes with wasabi and a tad bit of seaweed salad on top they were delicious!
hubby was underwhelmed at his food. he had ordered the sampler of beef and pork with special sauces, one of which was very salty so he scraped off the sauce on the pork. He liked the beef sauce being kind of mushroomy.Had a couple of beers and were very full.
Woke up to valentines day flowers and butterfinger bars, my favorite.and a really nice card.
The dinner spared me from obsessing about the frustrating day today.
I dressed up in a copper/brown colored top and wore my chocolate pearls and earrings with black slacks and boots.I had not dressed up in a while.
yesterday I received my 3rd and final light laser treatment for the redness of my face. I can't tell all that much of a difference though she says there is a big difference. Of course she would say that! It is her job to make me feel better. And it was expensive...I won't do that again.

Just a quick update.
I have been busy getting doctors orders on my clients....some are reluctant to give me orders....why this must be so hard?????
I have been creating charts on my clients so that is good.
I am starting over with all new charts one way to thin my filing cabinet., emptied it and started anew. I have a gal helping me to do this.
I have about 30 new charts already. I have about 150 clients total, so this is a start.

I don't know when my lawyer will get back in touch with me, just awaiting his email with suggested rewrites of my statement for the board of nursings claim against my license.

Getting new orders and charting has been a great distraction on my part.
I am not sure what will become of my practice as I may lose my license after it is all said and done and pay a fine as well. Thousands of dollars.

am trying to be brave and just take it a day at a time.

3 weeks ago I fell and hurt my ribs....They are still painful, thru out my work day, but are much better.

I am awaiting a note from my lawyer. Am anxious to hear what he has to say in regards to my statement. The state board of nursing is like the firing squad. guilty unless proven innocent.

I slept into day and it felt great.
Had not been sleeping well with everything
that has been going on.
This week I faxed in the document that I must follow
that states that I need doctor orders to provide foot care to my clients.
He did not believe me and would not give me orders.

Now I have to meet with the Director of nurses at one
of the nursing homes that I go to and provide care to their residents.
Don't know what is up with that.
Will call her on Monday.
This first part is done as we put in the mail box the originals of
that my lawyer asked for. I finished "the Statement"
yesterday and faxed that to them.
now it is a wait and see...there is nothing more that I can do...
Have asked about 6-8 people to write letters of support
to the board on my behalf...so hopefully they have done that.
My anxiety is better because I have been having some luck
getting doctors orders and am charting again which is good.
I have the same gal coming over on sunday to help with
paper work, filing and putting together new charts.
I am so grateful for her assistance.
Hope she thinks I pay her well.
WEll I need to get dressed so we can go out to eat at our usual
Chris' for some chicken and sausage gumbo.
My weight finally was down to 179.6 this morning.
I had been up to 187.8.
