CHECK OUT MY TICKER!

I have ditched the cigs. And I wanted to share some info. If you live in Florida, there is a website called www.tobaccofreeflorida.com. You can call the quitline and they will give you several options and free counseling to help you quit.

I've started the patch. And I have a "bag of tricks" that includes peppermint, gum, coffee stirrers, toothpicks, and hair bands, that I use to keep me busy.

I feel better already and I am confident I will be a quitter for good.

After 15 long years of smoking.........

And I enjoyed every single cigarette.

But now I can smell my shampoo, and perfume, and I actually use the sunroof in my car since I don't have ashes to blow everywhere.

Life is good.

StarPonysMama, wow that is great! Sounds like you are organized and ready to win this battle. This is, no doubt, one of the best things you could do for yourself. Good luck!

Hey Ya'll (spoken like the Florida girl I am - LOL)

Thanks for all your support - it does mean A LOT TO ME to be able to come here and read this if I want a stinky ciggy.

Moments that I want a cigarette are bizarre and fleeting. Lucky for me my cravings last no longer than a few seconds and are gone. I'm sure I can thank the patch for some of that craving help.

I'm chugging right along on day #3. My counselor says that cravings usually peek between day 3 and 4 so this should be the rough spot. I've made sure to work out everyday to relieve stress!

I'll post again and tell you how it's going. I've tried to quit SEVERAL times before with no avail - this patch definitely helps. I'm interested to see how well I do when I step down to the next level.....

We will see!

Sure is easier to quit smoking when you've already quit the drinking. For me they went hand in hand. I so enjoy growing as a person.....one step at a time!

Congratulations. If you hang in there, you will be so happy in the end. I quit 8 months ago, and my life has so changed. Prior, my life was obsessed with cigs and when I was going to have the next one. Now I feel so much cleaner.

I talked with my aunt last night who smokes like a chimney. She is in so denial. I feel sad for her, but her denial is sort of funny. She thinks that cigs are the best thing that has happened to her, and that they are the best stress release. The best thing that happened to her? I can't even stand to go see her because when she smiles, her nocotine-stained teeth are so gross!!!
