I crave it so bad sometimes! I get really bored and then I just want a nice big rum and coke. Plus I know I do it because I feel naughty when I do it. My mom can neeever know because yeah.

I also crave it really bad sometimes. Rum and dietCoke or Bud Light. I feel like I could very easily become an alcoholic--three of my mom's 5 siblings are alcoholics, 3 of my dad's 5 siblings plus his dad were alcoholics, so I know if it is genetic at all it wouldn't take much. When I was in my 20's I drank quite a bit on the weekends--never had a hangover, but still drank almost every weekend. It's been quite a while since I've had a drink, but when I get stressed or really depressed I do crave a drink...it goes away rather quickly but it still bothers me that it flashes across my mind, "I'd like a drink". Thankfully it goes no further than that other than to scare me. If you are concerned about it, talk to somebody IRL about it. Stay away from the situation where you can have access to alcohol. Stay strong and know that it isn't worth it!

Me too, Captain Morgan & Coke. I never ever drank alone, only in social situation, until a couple weeks ago. Then I dumped everything down the sink, and started my mission all over.

Good luck

I was that way too just after college. I didn't start quite as young as you are but back then in the stone age (I'm 58) we didn't have quite as much opportunity :-)

If it worries you, go to the counseling center at school and maybe look at what is making you bored; boredom for me at that age was often anxiety.

Alcohol can seem like it's fun, but it can really mess up your life if it get's out of control. Drinking because you're bored is not a good sign. I don't want to get all moral on you, but drinking to change your mood, is a warning sign. And having cravings is another sign that things might be out of control.

Cravings are tough to deal with. I'm 11 months sober now, and I still get cravings, but they always go away eventually.

I really encourage you to talk to someone IRL - school councillor maybe? Because trust me you do not want to mess up your life like I did.
