Cure for boozing.... ice cream with chocolate sauce

So far it's working great - 12 days. I think I shall write a book, and make an infomercial.

The key is to serve it in a teacup, and eat it with a baby spoon. That way you get in touch with your inner child, and you don't get big as a cow.

It's a bit cold in my house for ice cream at the moment, but coincidentally I'm on the wagon as well. Chocolate definitely helps me and anything that I can see as special treat.

As we know, alcohol gets to be a reward system and we just need to find another one, and slide the alcohol out of first place.

MyZen - The key to ice cream consumption in the winter is this - prior to scooping, start a kettle of water for tea. So when you are done with your ice cream, you have a lovely cup of hot tea waiting! It's an art dear!

However...I'm out of ice cream! Eeekk! Had to make do with chocolate milk. So far, so good. I also bought a book called One Breath at a Time - Buddhism and the Twelve Steps, by Kevin Griffin. I'll let ya know what I think.

Despite all appearances to the contrary....I am still sober.

And the book I mentioned above is really good if anyone is interested in Buddhism and sobering up. The author comes from the Theravada/Vipassana side of things....however if that means nothing to you, that's OK. He writes from a pretty basic level and tries to encorporate some of the foundations of Buddhism along with how he emeshes that within the 12 Steps. He teaches at Spirit Rock, among other places.
