Yeah Jen, that's my problem. Once I get rolling it's very hard to stop.

"One drink is too much, a thousand was never enough."

Cotton, part of alcoholism isn't always about drinking every single day. Some are binge alcoholics, which is still a huge problem and often times turns into everyday alcoholic after awhile. A binge drinker often times starts to drinking thinking they aren't going to get drunk or will stop as soon as they get a 'buzz', but doesn't stop until they either pass out, get sick, or just can't hold a bottle anymore. A binge drinker can control the drinking as long as there's no alcohol around them, but when it's given to them freely, they take advantage of it and binge...

I really hope you can find a way to say no, too. It's scary passing out and waking up not knowing where you are or who the person next to you is. Sucks waking up with those horrible headaches, knowing that even though it's bad, you still just NEED another drink. (((cottoncandy)))

Cottoncandy…

Maybe we can offer you an easier way than fighting it every day for the rest of your life. Allow me to quote chapter 6 in the Big Book...

"We will see that our new attitude towards liquor has been given us without any thought or effort on our part. It just comes! That is the miracle of it. We are not fighting it, neither are we avoiding temptation. We feel we have been placed in a position of neutrality-safe and protected. We have not even sworn off. Instead, the problem has been removed. It does not exist for us. We are neither cocky or afraid. That is our experience. That is how we react so long as we keep in fit spiritual condition."

Now that is good news.

On the road to the good stuff,
Richard S.
